Firefox on the Mac isn't actually as good as Camino or Safari, so that's partly a reason. Also, people use what they want. Not everyone always goes for the best product (Firefox is obviously the best browser for Windows.)

Because IE is marketed to all and sundry, and has become the predominant browser.
I don't like everything about Internet Explorer, as it has its numerous faults (the older version I have keeps crashing if I use it for prolonged periods!) but I can't use Firefox, even though I have it on my computer (my friend's old one, which I inherited when she got her FREE laptop from uni!). I am so used to IE, using any other browser is like wearing a very tight corset!

Yes it is true but every person have the right to choose. Ie it is native in Windows and it and many people are accustom with it
Adds this firefox offer many options and some people can be scarred for this - it is possible that they prefer a simple bur familiary option Adss this IE have this advantage It can offer you a rich experiency due to the Actiive X Technology

A lot of people like to stick with what they know. The same reason some people refuse to upgrade their internet connection yet complain about the speed.
The other reason is Firefox doesn't always work with some webpages. Though, it does work more than it doesn't.

I use it, but just read yesterday that someone hacked into firefox and got personal information such as credit card numbers etc. Now it seems slower and for some reason you cant just x out it always makes you close all the tabs...that sucks.

Because Opera is about 20 times better and IE is about 20 times faster.
If you want maximum speed and compatibility, IE wins every time. It's less standards-obsessed so supports more tags.
If security is your priority Opera owns Firefox.
Firefox is a compromise choice that ends up doing nothing particularly well- it's just a fashion.
