I just got my wisdom teeth out about 3 days ago. I'm not taking my vicodin anymore, but will alcohol do any harm to my mouth? I've heard it could cause more bleeding. Anybody know?

That is true...it can cause more bleeding because alcohol thins the blood and with thinned blood how will it clot in order to start the healing process.

If you are planning on not taking the pain killers please don't stop the antibiotics. It's better to just wait until you are fully healed before hitting the bottle. You want to heal fast without complicating things.

You really shouldn't drink alcohol. It does thin your blood making the healing process slow down. I would wait another week or so before having a drink.

Yes, it may cause bleeding. Alcohol is a vasodilator (I.e. WIdens your blood vessels) and that may pose some problems with bleeding.

It's not the smartest thing to do but you won't feel the pain for a lil bit
