If we had thousands of e-mails hitting Wal-mart and Sams Club, it would certainly get their attention. Ask them for a written official policy concerning the hiring of their employees. Do they check our their legality?

Meanwhile, I shop at the grocery store on the corner.

Thank you for some great answers. I will research these links, and send a letter on the Law Firms letterhead.

As for the corner grocery store...they use local folks, high school kids, and have hired my handicapped son a few hours a week. When you use local people, they use local people...who they can vouch for..

Hasn't Wal*Mart already been fined like a 11 million dollars over hiring illegal aliens ? Writing them will do no good until they start suffering money wise they will not take the matter seriously. I just don't shop there when sales decline will they make changes and thats a nice way to send a message don't shop there.

You Will Get NO RESPONSE From Wally-Mart

they probably are legal, unless you checked everyone of them.......i am sure you did.

there is no getting around the I9 doc for hire and SS verification.

as far as other incidents.

they use subcontracts.
meaning the subcontractor are responsible

leagally it is the obligation of the subcontractor.
no company is gonna openly admit it.

if you argue that they should verify the legal status of another companies staff then you move into a grey area that is easily defendable in court.

i have no love for wal mart.

Emails are not effective. Write a letter to the CEO or president of Wal Mart, so that they have to respond to you in writing. Emails are easily deleted, ignored, or receive an automated response.

Are you that sure your grocery store isn't hiring illegals? Why are you only concentrating on WalMart? I'm not defending them, I'm just asking why this is your focus when there are many, many companies flying under the radar.

Why not just suggest to Wal Mart and the like that you would appreciate if their staff were fluent in English?

They will no doubt say their policy is against hiring illegal immigrants. I mean seriously; the law is there even if the US Government does not enforce it they can be held quite culpable for hiring illegal immigrants and won't dare say they do.
