i live with my uncle, and i have a laptop that i would like to have some internet connection with it. however, i don't want to use anything that would be connected to my uncle's account -- like adding a phone line, or using a router (he doesn't want me to). i know that if i sign up for an internet plan with any local wireless store (like t-mobile, or cingular) i could order a PC card and connect my laptop to the internet. but they usually cost around $59.99/month but i don't have a budget for it as of now.

are there any other inexpensive ways that i could have internet? a little less expensive than $59.99. i would say my budget would be $30-40 per month. i also have a desktop, but i don't know if i could use that for those plans.

(If you don't already have one,) you could get a wireless modem for your laptop. Then, find/go to Wi-Fi locations near you. (Some Wi-Fi locations have free access; & at some there's a monthly fee.)

I have a wire less ISP for 29.00 a month, check around and see if there is a smaller company in your area offering a wifi service!
