How old is she? If she's young, I bet she'd love a hand held video game. If she doesn't already have one, pick up a Game Boy. They're cheap! Get a cute little game or two for it. You could get out of Walmart for hardly more than the balloon and teddy bear.
She'll be laying down and sore, in a perfect position for playing a handheld video game.
I just had abdominal surgery myself, so I know how it feels!
What ever you do, don't make her laugh. Ouch.

A card and balloons are nice, but (in addition to those) to might want to bring her something that she can have some fun with while she recovers. Maybe an LCD game from Wal-Mart or a coloring/puzzle book.

Depends on her age and how much $$ you want to spend. A card and balloons are nice, flowers, a plant, booze if allowed, a cute stuffed animal, some music to listen to, something to read, make-up, cloths, a basket filled with all sorts of stuff, be creative.

If she's a younger teen!13-16, they like those teen magazines. It will keep her busy at night when no ones is there visiting. You can stop at the grocery store before the hospital.Flower, balloons and a magazine will be cheaper than if you got a whole bunch of balloons.Hope she feels better!

I think a small toy like a teddy bear and a card and maybe one nice balloon that says 'Get Well Soon'. And lots of love!

I would say flowers. You can also bring ballons but they can't be latex ballons because that is against the law. You could also bring a goodie basket unless she can't have sweets for a while. A nice card would be great to! If you really love your neice give her all of the above!

I think a puzzle book, or coloring book something she can do that's fun to pass the time. If she has a gameboy or something like that then you could get her a new game to play. That would be better, I think, for a yooung child than the traditional flowers. Good luck, Poor little girl!

I bought my niece a Build-a-Bear and put it in a little doctors outfit. She loved it (she's only 3) and everytime she gets sick (she has chronic ear infections) she says that "Dr. Dixie Bear" makes her better. These bear and an outfit will probably cost $20 to $40 But they are worth it.

bring her an ipod if there is one or radio or cassette tapes,cd's of music she likes, the hospital tv only has so many channels and having music or a computer game or even a couple of good books to read would make the stay more bearable and will continue to be useful long after you left.
