Homemade healthy puppy ice cream: 1 C. creamy peanut butter, melted for 20 seconds in the microwave. Stir in 1 16oz. container of vanilla yogurt. You can add 2-3 tbsp of honey if your dog has a real sweet tooth. Put the mixture in an ice cube tray and freeze. Pop out when your pup needs a cool sweet treat!

Also, Southern Living's cookie cookbook has a recipe just for dogs that my dogs LOVE. It's healthy with wheat flour, whole oats, honey, etc.

If you trust your vet more when it comes to nutrition, why not ask him for some recipes. If you had talked to your vet, he would have told you not to put white sugar in any dog treats you make. Go to the library and get some books on dog treats.
