Have you tried the federal loans by filling out the FAFSA? I got the Stafford loans just fine, no cosigner required.

Federal loans from the government are guaranteed. Of course, you'll have to pay them back. They give you up to a max of $45,000 for school. Stafford loans.

The way you worded your question makes it difficult to answer. Do you have a student loan or are you trying to get one?

Ask your college for an application for a "pell" grant. My daughter got one. I have terrible credit due to a divorce, and she gets $3,000 a quarter.
