You have a VERY sick bird that may not make it. The watery droppings indicate a possibilty of a few things. The shaking a bit more.

Your bird could have coccidiossis, If so, you need to get to a pet store or feed store immediately!!!! There are a half dozen medications that would work well, but likely the easiest for you to find would be something with a sulfa drug in it, maybe sulfamethazine. If you can find Ampol (amprolium) that would be even better. Follow the direction dosages for small chicks if there is nothing listed for pigeon. The shivering would indicate, like in humans, that the bird is cold. You might want to put it somewhere warm

Your bird could have PMV-1 (all you can do for this is supportive treatment, and if you have any other pigeons, you'd want to vaccinate them.) This disease is only one that pigeons/doves can catch. The fact that you say he's "crashed" a few times on his feet, makes me think it might be this or what I mention below.

Your bird may have Salmonella - Amoxycillian or Ampicillian would likely be a good choice if you can't get to a vet and get some Baytril. about 1500 mg/U.S. gallon of water. for about 10 days.

I'm no vet, just someone who's raised pigeons for almost a half century now.

Honestly, the bird you describe is very ill. You don't have time to be playing around on a computer discussing it. Get some help to it as SOON as you can or you will likely lose it.

I can't tell you exactly whats wrong with your bird but I do know this, some birds can be a carrier or catch diseases or internal parasites that effect the central nervous system along with the brain. It sounds like your bird is in the advanced stages of whatever it has and if you don't get it to the vet it could die. If you love your bird you will find a way to get it help from the doctor.

Sometimes if you call the vet and just tell them your situation they might let you make payments. Heck, it's worth a try. Good luck

you may want to contact your local aviary or even a rehab center for birds. try calling around to avian vets, you may get one who sympathizes with you and may help you with payments or even donate their services.
just make sure you don't let him suffer. birds tend to hide their illness as long as they can, and when they do show signs it's usually pretty sick at that time.

pigeons are neat birds and have helped in some wars. I've had pigeons in the past and raised a few from squabs. in my opinion, they make good pets, they're no more messy than a parrot :P

brandiejs1979 there are a lot of disgusting people too, and I don't like them. Nice of you to put in your 2 cents to someone who has a serious problem with a pet that he cares about.

NaturesRocker try contacting a local bird breeder and see if they would be willing to check out your bird for you, they may be able to give you an idea as to what is wrong and if it is a health issue or an injury. If you need any other help please contact me.

Sorry to hear about that, Maybe you can try a nature center. I have one in my county that helps hurt/sick wildlife. Eventhough I know your bird isn't wild they may help. OR you can try your local SPCA, they tend to be low cost. Another thought is to take it to a store that sells only birds (not a petco or petsmart), they may know what's wrong with it and there's a good chance if they do then maybe they'll have something there for it.

"birds are disgusting....pigeons are even more disgusting"

Humans are even more disgusting. Brilliance, isn't it?

Sick birds need immediate medical attention. Birds are quite frail and the signs you are noticing are usually only noticeable when the bird is close to death.
