Why don’t we witness any more miracles in our modern times? Back in the day so many of them seemed to happen? Dead resurrecting, walking on water, magical hands appearing… Did god run out of fairy dust? (no stupid answers such as “the sunset and the birth of a child are a miracle” please, I’ll hurl…). Has it got anything to do with the fact that the world has become more educated and harder to convince with tricks? And also why doesn’t reveal himself to us through a huge global miracle to convince us? If you say “because god isn’t a magician… he wants you to choose him out of free will…”, why was Jesus performing so many miracles back then causing Roman soldiers and many other non believers to convert and follow him?

I’ve posted some answers and I’ve noticed that some Christians go on talking nonsense and avoid answering straight away. Focus on the question please. Avoid nonsense answers, if you can’t answer let someone else try…

No, it’s not “luck”, it’s “chance”. Some say “I had a premature baby and it survived” or “I survived a horrible accident”. In every case there are chances of surviving or not. In some cases you survive even if the chances that you do are less than the ones that you wont, still they exist and it happens. What about all the mothers who lost their child and all the people who actually got killed in accidents, were is their miracle? Also, all the miracles back then were flashy and full of special effects, not just “I could’ve died” incidents…

(and "burf" for half the answers, i warned you…)

faith...because man doesn't have faith anymore...you can tell that just by the questions you see on this site......God can not move with out faith......you talked about how the Romans in the time when Jesus was walking around doing His ministering....how they didn't believe.....yes they did....they heard the reports of what Jesus was doing and they seen those who had been healed and set free....the Bible says FAITH comes by hearing.....those who received healing or deliverance at these times went about telling all who would listen of what Jesus had done...those who heard had their faith stirred and then they believed it can happen for me too...and it did.....but you still had skeptics even then when they had seen it with their own eyes and they just like today never received a thing.....so stretch a little and have a Little faith and you too will see a miracle...

I totally agree with Shining1 Also, God made man in the image of Him and also gave him gifts. You may not be able to see Jesus but trust me when I say this, Jesus lives in all of us. Some people know and there are others who don't. You definitley have to have Faith and stay prayed up. Also, it says in the bible that Jesus reigns on the Just and well as the unjust....It doesn't matter what you're doing wether it be good or bad, he cares for you and he loves you. I believe there are miracles everyday. For example...you woke up this morning...to me..that's a miracle because somewhere in the world, someone didn't wake up this morning. Also, people who get in these tragic car accidents and they say that he or she wont make it....and in the next few weeks, the person is up and healthy as ever....yes the doctor made sure of this but God had everything to do with it. Also....there's a woman in my church who had cancer and one day, she went to the doctor, and it was gone. I also call that a miracle. People need to realize that in certain situations...no ...let me rephrase that...in EVERY situation...wether it be about dying or financial problems...Jesus plays a part in that. Also, I think the reason God hasn't shown us a "huge global miracle" is because the time isn't right. When will the time be right? When God says it's time. It's coming though. In the bible, it says we're living in Perilous times...we are...just read Revelations...the last chapter in the Bible. You don't have to believe me...I"m just telling you what I believe. I'm not by any chance trying to "change" anyone. I am a walking miracle because God had mercy on me and let me live another day. Now...I apologize if any of this offends anybody or my answer is "nonsense."
Take Care and God Bless.

Everything is relative. To a mother, the birth of a child may be a miracle. To me, no. To a someone in Beirut living underground for 15 days and finally emerging to see a sunset may be a miracle to them. To me, no. It all depends on a point of view. If you only consider the things you mentioned as miracles, perhaps you are being too picky about what can be considered a miracle.

You have to ask yourself if you are the kind of person who is looking for a miracle. I was, and it led to me to go to Japan and see someone I hadn't seen in two years. He lives in a city outside of a bigger city, which meant the chances of finding him were really low. But I did, and even seeing him for only four days was a miracle, in my opinion. We're best friends now, and my life has never been the same. And this was only three weeks ago.

Think about your life, and think about the best things that have happened. These should be your own miracles, if you choose to believe that.

From my understanding, we don't witness more miracles because we don't have a close relationship with Father that they used to have. The people in scripture were so close to Father that He would dwell with them in person as such things as a column of fire or the thick fog around a mountain or walls of clouds around the whole group walking through the wilderness. We as people have sinned so much through the generations that we can no longer have that relationship with Him. We must first repent for the sins of ourselves then for the generations. The clues to some of this is in the Torah, first 5 books of scripture. There is a book and the name escapes me right now but you might enjoy it. if you would like to keep in touch and I will find the name of the book again I would love to share it with you. I myself have witnessed a miracle. I have a friend with spineabifada, and he walked with a limp. On night after praying over him for months, his legs started to grow and so did his feet, there were about 10 other people in the room to see it happen. He got up and started to run.

Well, education has certainly become a big factor. The understanding of math and science in modern times has a strong influence on the way we live as human beings. We desire knowledge, and answers that can be explained, and theorized. We seek out to find data supporting the knowledge gained, and attempt to find the true meaning. Basically, we have had many questions over the years, and have needed to answer them.

So, the real question should be, "are we becoming less religious in todays world, or are we approaching a more scientific approach toward understanding?".

Well, grab the barf bag because clearly you do not have children. The birth of a baby is a miracle. The creation of life.

There may be miracles all around us but people are wrapped up in themselves and they do not realize it.

My sister was told she would never be able to conceive a baby. They were about to get ready to do in vitro fertilization when she somehow got pregnant on her own (well, her husband helped). She was never supposed to be able to carry the baby to term, but she did, and they are both fine.

I was in a car accident that should have killed me, but I am alive. Miracles happen every day.

As for huge global miracles, I can't answer that one, but I am thankful for the small miracles all the same.

From a time, unfathomable, to a time, unfathomable, existence in some style has and could live on. Our modern status and progression is the top of an fantastically lengthy lineage and it is going to proceed to adapt. no matter if we people are nevertheless about on the top of all of it, be there one, is unlikely yet conceivable. Evolving is extra in all probability to be by necessity extremely than for the added ideal. Your extra mundane references to Jesus and miracles haven't any authentic touching on something. He did not exist as portrayed. did you do not forget that no longer one know the teachings of Jesus replaced into written down till better than 100 years had handed on account that his meant crucifixion. now's it no longer a ask your self in itself that folk were nevertheless alive for connection with make certain Jesus and his miracles.

Thou shall not tempt the Lord thy God!

Christ does, and will continue to do miracles. It is we, whom choose not to see or believe!

Sometimes miracles come in small packages...

Babies who are born premature, and despite doctors believing they will nOT live.. they do!

People who get into horrible accidents, and come out of it with merely a scratch.

Are those NOT miracles!?

Oh, silly me.. of course not.. It's what people such as yourself would call just plain dumb luck! Is that what it is?

The apostles pointed out that after they were gone that the time for miracles would be over. There was no more need for them. As of that point, we had the entire Bible available to us and wouldn't need any more proof.
