There is nothing to be afraid of. I fly around the world on business and have no problems flying. The airports are a different story. Some International airports will harrass you but as a whole. All is safe.

It's normal to be nervous for your first flight, but I wouldn't say there's anything to be afraid of. It's like any other mass form of transportation. The worst part is taking off and landing because that's when the acceleration or deceleration starts and you can feel it. Sometimes it's pretty fun though, feeling the plane speed up and start going upwards.

No, there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of. They make planes more safe these days. Just make sure the plane has 2 engines, one on each side and not on the top of the plane. You will get there faster if the plane has Winglets. Just make sure you get to the airport enough in advance because security is insane!

put it this way you have higher chances of dying in the car on the way to the airport than in a plane accident. but yeah take gum with you or swallow tons because on some people the ear popping can get very annoying, consider to take stuff to read and listen to.if there is turbulence, most of the time it's no big deal at all, it's normal, everytime i fly there is turbulence.

It's safer than being in a car. Things you should know: you can see the wings flapping a bit when you go through clouds/turbulence - that's normal. You may hear/feel a thump just after take off and just before landing - that's just the landing gear, so that's normal too.

Nah - just remember that there are at least two engines, generally. If one goes out, you still have one that will take you all the way to the scene of the accident. In fact, you'll probably beat the paramedics there by, ohhh, 20 minutes.

Well there is lots to be afraid of, the plane could crash, it could explode on take-off, terrorists could hi-jack it. But with thousands of flights every day and only a few incidents every year, your chances are probably better to win the lottery than to get into any trouble.

not at all! i fly all the time and i really like it. just make sure you take something to pass the time like music or a book. especially if your going on a long flight. also take something with you to eat and some gum or mints and pop one in during takeoff and landing and you'll be just fine. good luck and i hope you have a great time wherever your going!
