My friend andI have recently moved into an apartment that had inside cats and at first her allergies were really bad but are begining to lighten up. Will she get so used to them that they apear to be gone or will they come back later?

She is building up a tolerance to the allergen (cat dander). As long as she is exposed to a small amount of the allergen she will remain tolerant, but if she should be away from the allergen for a long period of time or be exposed to a large quantity of the allergen - such as a whole live cat - she will probably have a reaction.

I don't think so. I think is quite the contrary, the longest exposition you have to what causes your allergy, makes it stronger.

In my house there are two cats for ten years now, my allergy started like 6 years ago (but for many years i didn't know). My symptoms are different now, though. Now i am not sneezing all the time, but my noose still produce mucus and it goes to my throat and it causes faringitis.

Any way, thats my case, and for your friend, could be different.

After a few months you adapt to them.
Studies have shown that children who had these allergies lost them after a few months of being exposed to living with cats or dogs.

I have! If I pet my cats then rub my eyes I still have some problems but regualr bathing of cats is good idea.
