For example, when eating a red popsicle, it dyes the lips red for awhile. Why is this? What ingredient(s) cause this?

Well, usually it is the dyes that they put into them. Sometimes, though, like with an all natural popsicle, it could be tha natural color of the fruit. Blueberry, for example, turns your mouth purple.

The amount of dye, I think, and the fact that you suck on it with your lips around it so the dye has a good chance to sink into your lips.

cause there is a thing call food coloring that they use on those product not to mention kids love to walk around with there mouth all sorts of colors and mommies love it when there clothes are the same color as there mouth.
