If it's good enough for the Egyptians (Bastet), then sure. Knock yourself out.

Hmm, you just totally insulted my beliefs. I'm sorry if you have been around some really hypocritical people who say one thing but insist that they believe in another. Not everyone who has a relationship with God is like that. If you want the least amount of religion in your life then why are you taking time out of your precious life to ask irrelevant questions like this one? I respect you and your thoughts. Who am I to tell you that if you worshipped your cat that would be a sign of a psychotic disorder? lol....I would report you but I actually feel for you....I guess it's not your fault that you've been exposed to God in the wrongs ways...People have really twisted all this up...We really need some good faith leaders to help those who lack faith...only if they choose though. Personally, I don't follow all the religion mumbo jumbo im christian your atheist your catholic and your going to hell blah blah blah. I just read my bible and go with the way that I feel the Spirit wants me to intrepret it as. Again, I know you don't care to read this...But it's always nice to be open minded and these are my 2 cents. Take them for what they are worth...Take care...

Try beating your cat until it is unrecognizable, then nail her to a cross, allow her to hang there and die slowly. Once the cat dies, take her down and put her in a tomb for three days. See if she is resurrected. If so, then sure... call her God and worship her.

Of course, Jesus already went through this for you. So you can avoid the animal abuse by worshipping Him.

What is your problem? Why are you so hateful? If you don't want religion than don't practice it. You don't have to sit there and make stupid disrespectful "jokes" about it. Really who are you trying to convince that you don't want religion, us or yourself? After all you come on the Religion and Spirituality site to tell people you don't like religion isn't that kind of like walking in to a bar to tell people that you don't agree with drinking?

What ever you want to believe in is fine with me though naming your cat God is a bit disrespectful of others beliefs. Why don't you try the Uncommon Denomination at WWW.UUA.ORG...you'll see that a religion can in fact be non-religious. PEACE!

Sure it is. many religions around the world worship idols and beads and relics so why not a cat, after all it didn't do the Egyptians much harm did it?

Yes. Make new commandments. Too bad you wont invent cattology, as ancient Egyptians adored cats in the past.

You can name anything god and worship it.
You'll just have to wait and see what the end result will be.
I don't think you'll be happy with it.

Doubt there would be much benefit. Besides, the cat isn't purrrfect like God is.

NO! you still will have a cat and not God.
and since it will be a cat and not God you will not be able to worship it.
