I guess that would depend upon your religion. Orthodox Christianity would say that Jesus IS divine....so he IS God. There are three distinct PERSONS that make up the ONE God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One is called into close relationship with all three.

Most commonly when people refer to 'God' they mean The Father....but God is really a generic term for any of the three---prayer can be directed to any of the three.

Come Holy Spirit....
Our Father...
In Jesus' name....
All praying to the ONE God.

Jesus is the "only mediator between God and man" so all prayer to God would have to be directed through Jesus if it were to arrive in God's ears (just a figure of speech). Keep trying--you are doing great!!

well. Julie. Your not going to like the answer.

You say your not religious. If your not saved, your prayers are not heard anyway.

Why? Because God can not hear a lost person. Why? That is why Jesus Christ is our intercessory. The only way to the Father is through The SON.
If your not scriptural Christian, you can NOT go through the SON.

This is why, you always end a prayer in Christ's name, so it will be heard.
This is exactly what God teaches.

you pray to God through Jesus. It would be even better if you used God's personal name. And I am glad that you are trying to become spiritual. It is very important. Email me if you would like help studying the bible

God and Jesus are one , so who ever you pray to it is the same .

Pray to Whomever is in your heart.

When I pray, sometimes I'll say: Lord, or Father,
or Sweet Jesus, or God,

It makes no difference because He's all the same Person.

Just be sincere in your prayer and don't worry about His Titles or Name.

He knows you're speaking to Him.

When someone whispers sweet nothings to their spouse, we don't always call their literal name but instead use tender little expressions like "honey, darling... " See?

The same thing is with God...He knows you mean Him.
