I think this is the last question I am going to ask in this section since my vacations are over and I am going to do more constructive things than wasting my time here.

This section of Religion and Spirituality is getting full of the wrong people. Why the atheist, agnostics, non-believers are in this section 24/7 when they are supposed to be in the Science and Mathematics section?

They are here all the time, I even recognize them easily because I see them too often here. You post questions to make people think and then they pretend to be the victims saying they feel offended.

Aren't you in the incorrect section in the first place? If you are in middle of religious people you are going to get your butt burned in purpose because you wanted it. Christians love to experiment with atheists, to prove their beliefs. Don't like it? Leave. Want to do the same to them? All of you are doing it wrong, by being offensive and insulting we will immediately dismiss you and label you.

If you can handle the heat get out of the kitchen, and you are definitely in the wrong kitchen.

Go to the Science & Mathematics section since your beliefs don't match with religion nor spiritualism.

Are you Religious? Spiritual? No Go to another category.

You are here to expand your knowledge? Then do it the right way.

Proving that a God doesn't exists is not going to work. Discuss that with your fellow atheists in another section.

or do I have to call Yahoo to make a special section for you under Science & Mathematics?

I learn the theory of evolution is science class, not in any of my religious or christian education classes in my 12 years of being in a catholic school.

Go to another section like Biology or something like that that makes more sense with what you belief, stop making this into a christian bashing section and get a life.

Being here isn't very constructive, I think is more destructive, and few people are learning what they have to learn.

I don't even waste my time in the Gay and Lesbian section and I don't agree with it, and I even had gay classmates in my catholic school. WHY? Because I respect them. I let them BE. Why these people don't let us be?

Uh I am so "brainwashed" that I can't even walk nor talk, nor think for myself, or make decisions in my daily life, oh please :rolls eyes:

Like if I were some kind of Zombie trying to convert others into zombies.

Dumb excuses.

And another thing there is a big difference between a fanatic christian and a christian, and I am so not fanatic. Do I send people to Hell? Why should I, if I am also worried if I am going to hell to? I don't have the ticket to go straight to heaven do you have it?

And you what. This issue is not an atheist issue, is an american issue. I go to the LatinAmerica Religions section and all the questions are clean and respectful even the ones from the non-believers. It's you, not the atheists. What a shame.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I come here to exercise my brain, and also as a part of my never-ending search for truth.

Plus, I enjoy debate. Especially philosophical and religious debate. We may never find the answers (until the end), but it's a fun dance in the meantime. Most people I know get offended by those kinds of topics, though, so I don't get a lot of opportunity to talk with people about this stuff that fascinates me so much. So, when a site like this pops up, I take advantage of it.

This place is a great opportunity to ask questions of people who don't believe the same stuff you do, and who don't mind telling you so (friends who don't get offended can sometimes be TOO polite, and not share any of their real views). I just wish more people would put real thought into their answers rather than just preaching and/or being insulting.

I COULD just hang out in subs populated by people who agree with me, but what fun is that? Like they say in business: "If you have 3 people who agree on everything, you don't need 2 of them." Why bother preaching to the converted?

Anyway, as I answered in one of your other questions, I don't follow any organized religion. I think they're all tainted by humans and human concerns. BUT I find religion itself interesting, and I find the concepts of God, eternity, and all the other things we can't quite wrap our human meat-brains around very interesting as well.

It's interesting to see what other people think. It's interesting to talk about stuff. Plus, in the same way that a person learns best by teaching, I think that a person discovers their own mind and solidifies their beliefs best when trying to answer the questions of others who disagree with them.

I.e., if I can't answer your questions with my philosophy, then maybe I need to re-think my philosophy. So far, though, that hasn't been the case... But please keep trying... :-)

I understand why you're asking this question. I don't think it's just the athiests, though. I've run into just as many Christians in the science boards telling people that they're going to hell (in response to every scientific question). The problem isn't athiests, christians, or even Americans. It's just closed-minded idiots who can't entertain a question contrary to their own belief system, even for a few seconds. Idiocy knows no religion.

As for why more Americans are filling the "idiot" role in your question's answers: I imagine it's because Americans have a sense of entitlement (aided by egocentrism), as well as an undeserved sense of superiority based on... well... nothing (take another look at your test scores, America! Educationally, Europe is kicking our collective behind!).

On the other hand, I'm an American, and I think I've always been respectful and thoughtful in every answer I've given. So maybe the real problem is just people who are too afraid to question their own beliefs, christian or athiest...

Yes some of us are tyring to spread the word of truth to you poor brainwashed souls. And yes we can be offensive but so can you "religious" folk. The most bitterness comes from religion. Oh and by the way there is a HUGE difference between being religious and being spiritual. As you can tell i'm not a religious person but I am a spiritual person. I seek to learn and be englightend and improve myself. Just because I don't want to be brainwashed doesnt mean i'm not spiritual.

all people in the religion and spirituality section do things to push buttons its just in human nature to challenge someone elses beliefs if people would just learn to live and let live then maybe people wouldnt take so much offense at what atheists have to say i personally dont believe either side will win because you cant prove or disprove the existence of god so until someone can prove one way or the other there will be people in asking questions that offend other people i dont mean to be offensive but all anyone can do is learn to deal with it

Atheism and agnostics aren't science. Just because you're atheist doesn't mean you believe in evolution. Atheism is a form of religion to an Atheist. Telling people to leave? They are trying to find people they can relate to, if Christians happen to fall on the question they rant and rave and try to drill in their beliefs but thats not usually what the Atheists were asking. Thats like asking a Jew why his people killed Jesus. Its all a matter of what you believe in.

I don't know but it's kinda weird. They whine and complain about Christians proselytizing but they're doing the same thing.

Oh pleeeeezzzzz believe like I doooooooo.
Oh pleeeeeeezzzz validate me.

Like I said, its kinda weird.

Because otherwise no one would pay attention to them. They just want attention. They like to "discuss," however, all they do is trying to find fault. They don't like to live without confrontation. One case in point is: Smart *** remarks.
