My good honor student (14yrs.)has got mixed up w/wrong people and committed aggravated burglary (2counts). He is in a mental facility now for 30 days. If the judge won't send him to juvenile det. when he comes for court, what are some other places I can send him? I don't think I'll feel safe with him in my home in 30 days (I have 2 babies in the house, where this teen had 2 loaded guns! We live in West Tennesse. Anyone know of some options for us? Also, he has periodic depression and ADHD, so it needs to be a place he can get mental therapy.

I don't know about your possibilities to handle the problem as such. There is just one idea about depressions and ADHD:

Before mental therapy, I would strongly recommend him to go for a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax. The effect on the self-healing power of the body and mind is simply amazing, he'll also gain self-confidence. And with some luck, many symptoms could disappear.

At present, the treatment is available in California and Europe, costing about 200 Dollars. It's really worth travelling far.

hang on hang on the judge didn't send him JD
the kid has ADHD and depression OK but there are lots of kids locked up with the same thing i do not understand
if you can not cope with him looks like you will have to pass the problem on huh
because that is what it looks like you are making this youth out to be a problem
funny thing is my eldest was told he had ADHD and other problems i got beat of him for silly things i got treated bad from my son but do you no what HE was my problem not no one Else
i stood by that kid he is 24 now yeah he still has problems but the is learning to live and he always said if i would have gave up on him he wouldn't think he would still be around
so i suggest you sit and think what you really want for your son
but remember he is your problem he is still a youth if you wash your hands of him he may live to regret it
good luck in what you do and i wish your son a better future
respect

This is a hard one, first and foremost, you must put your other children first, make sure they are safe, can you get social services involved to help you with your 14yr old, maybe they can give you options and give you the guidence you obviously need.
I wish you luck, and hope that you soon find an answer to your dilema, Hope I have been of some help to you. Good Luck, sounds as though you need it.

The first thing you need to do is get rid of the loaded guns! He apparently needs some serious help, so go to the child welfare organizations in your state and try as hard as you can to get him into a good facility that can treat him.

Boot camp is the best way to straighten him out. It will also give him an oppertunity to become a full time member of the military and have a carrer there. Boot camp really works, I know.

emmaf has suggested an excellent source, social services, you son obviously needs counseling, he has a lot of problems. as for military schools, they are not what they are cracked up to be, many are horribly abusive, and the few that aren't should be reserved for children who are simply defiant and disrespectful, not for a child who truly is mentally unstable
