I always get mail from these preachers/ ministers/prohets asking me for money for this, that and the other---what is with that? I get envelopes with point of contact items as they call them. Should I give money to these ministries? Don Stewart, St. Matthews Church, etc.

Oh by the way, other family members usually get the identical letters only asking for different dollar amounts but the letters contain the same messages stating blessings are on their way. this is my time. I will be given an un-expected blessing within the next week, month, etc.

Yes, and I always reply with a lot of vulgarity, and threats to track them down, eat their children, and finally, gut them. But they still send me emails...those assbags.

No give money to generic charities like the United Way, Cancer Society, Diabetes Society, Jerry Lewis Telethon...Anything but these falsehoods that call themselves ministries and only serve to line the pockets of the ministers themselves. PEACE!

I get stuff like that every now & again.

My favorite one is the "blessed prayer cloth" or something like that. It's just a piece of paper with a picture of Jesus on it. According to the solicitation, you're supposed to kneel on the cloth and say a prayer; if you do, and if you're truly faithful, Jesus' eyes, which allegedly start out closed, will open, and your prayer will be answered--provided you send a certain size donation, of course. I've checked out the picture, and the open/closed eye thing is just an optical illusion.

Only give if you're absolutely sure they're legit; if not, forget it.

If you want to donate to any organization you should do some research on them first. Find out if they are legitimately a non-prfotit charity, etc. Or ask people to see which ones have been around the longest, do the most good, or are most known. Or if you attend church, give thru your church.

I sometimes give to ministries. I like to see what they are doing, that way I know how and what they are doing. One ministry I support is a missionary in Africa. I know him personally and his family. He sends a quarterly news letter and lists some needs, but he doesn't beg for money.
I give to hos ministry.

Yes, too much of it, which usually winds up in File 13. Ditto with emails. I usually "plant my seed" in my local church.

No, they are charletans. Keep your money for good causes like feeding the poor, and getting medicines to the sick
