High-protein and low carb diets work quickly, but can cause health problems if you're on them for too long.
The best diet to reduce weight, improve health, and maintain it over the long term isn't any kind of fad diet - just a healthy one, and one you continue for life. Avoid fats when possible, and ditch all the "empty calories" like chips and candy. Consume carbohydrates moderately and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables! Don't drink soda or sugary iced tea; in fact, avoid sugar in general.
The real key to losing weight and keeping it off, unfortunately, is simple. Eat less. Americans are surrounded by such plenty that we overestimate how much a person needs to eat to stay alive. Don't skip meals, but make your meals smaller. Think about the tiny portions they give at those expensive French restaurants - that's about the correct amount.
Sure, it'll suck at first, but you'll get used to it.
Exercising is important too, but it's not part of a "diet," so I won't go into it.

I've been doing low carb for three years now. My husband has also. It is a wonderful, healthy way to eat. People who say otherwise don't understand the diet.
We eat lots of protein, veggies and some low carb breads. We eat totally sugar-free. It's so easy to do now with all of the new sugar substitutes. You can buy sugar-free candy at any store and it really tastes like the real thing.
The trick is that you have to consider it a lifestyle. That's true with any eating program(diet). You have to get the "I've only got three more weeks of this" out of your mind. If you pig out after going off of any diet, you'll gain everything right back.
Low carb is the only eating program that seems to be successful for very obese people. I think that it is because your quantities are not rest riced until you get down to the last few pounds of your goal. Also, you get plenty of fat in the diet and fat keeps you full. Low carb keeps your blood sugar stable, so those awful cravings that you get on other diets are gone. It's wonderful. The only thing that has ever worked for me.
Here is a link with a whole community of people who do low carb. Many on this site have been doing low carb for many years.

Umm.....I do not understand how large you have been to start with, however for those who best must lose one other 20, you can not were giant. That method you have been wasting an excessive amount of weight whilst you lose 20 in a month, and that is typically why you may have hit a plateau. Any nutrition that might intent any individual your measurement to lose greater than five-10 kilos in a month is a nasty one, and also you frame will finally react thus. Put your self on a NORMAL healthful nutrition, a minimum of 1500 energy/day, and recreation (aerobic probably) for 30-60 mins at a time four-five days every week. Don't ever take nutrition tablets. Most of them do not paintings within the slightest, and those who do get rid of weight speedily relatively best dehydrate you.

There is no 'diet' that works the longest. The key to long-term weight loss is to develop healthy eating habits for life, exercise also. The minute you go off a 'diet' the weight comes back.
