Here is the regimen that I use when my hair gets extremely dry in winter and summer. It REALLY helps!!!

Once or twice a week:

Massage a dollop of mayonnaise into your hair and leave it on for one hour OR comb olive oil through your hair with a wide tooth comb and leave on all night (shampooing it out in the morning).

Shampoo (choose a shampoo for dry, damaged hair. I use Pantene Pro-V.)

Condition your hair and leave conditioner on for 5 minutes (after I put conditioner on, I pull my hair back with a scrunchie while I wash the rest of my body…this takes 5 minutes or longer. I also use Pantene Pro-V conditioner).

Towel dry (do not blow dry unless you HAVE to, it will make dry hair even dryer!). Apply a dab of VO5 Conditioning Hairdressing from about the middle of your hair to the tips. Do not apply it to the roots or your hair will look greasy. (It comes in a tube. The box it is packaged in is gold colored).

Style as usual.

For the rest of the week:

Use the VO5 just on the VERY ENDS of your hair….every morning before styling.

If you can find "Heena" in any Asian-Indain store, go grab it.
Make a thik batter o f heena , and after 5 hr apply it on your hair like you apply any hair color.
After 1 hr wash it.. dont shampoo.
This is realy a great natural conditioner , a gifted spice to India.

Cautions:
Make sure that you wont spill it on ur cloths or carpet. The stain will last long.

Have you ever tried a flat iron? I am addicted! Hair stays pretty straight - even in the humidity. Get a good ceramic one, that has 25 heat settings and is 1" wide. You will love your hair!
Don't use it every day, just on days you want to wear your hair straight. And ask your hairdresser what you can put on your hair before you flat iron it! I used this clear laminate spray that protects your hair.

I have curly hair to and this is how i make it straight. Use a straightning shampoo and conditioner like bio-silk. when you get out of the shower brush your hair with a tooth comb and then put in a straightning cream ( brilliant brunette, simply sleek by jon frieda $5.99 at the drugstore) then flip your head over and blow dry it almost dry. then section your hair in little section and blow dry straight with a big round brush. after that if you want it flat divide your hair into sections again and go over it with a flat iron. after you are done you can put in a finishing cream (brilliant brunette, satin shine by jon frieda). also you can put conditioner in your hair for about 15min once a week and then rinse it out. (aussie three min miracle). hope that helps just remember beauty takes time. my hair is halfway down my back and takes about 1.5 hours to do but i like it straight so i do it.

Use Henna you can get it an Indian store. Mix the powder in in water, one egg and let it soak for 3-4hours and then apply the paste to your hair inside out and leave it for 2hours. Then wash it off thoroughly. Do this once a month. It will straighten your hair out.

Some people have said to use Mayo & eggs in your hair as a deep conditioner and to also soften your hair.

one thing to try for dry hair is avoid heat. that includes hairdryers, straighteners, and curling irons. try this combo: 1 EGG, 1 tsp HONEY and 1 Tbsp ALMOND OIL. then u appy to clean, damp hair and leave it on for about 30 min. then rinse twice. ive tried just egg, or just mayo, the only thing it does to your hair is leaving it stinky, and it feels funny. hope this helps!
