Your question is beautiful. It makes those who pray think why they do so.
Truly, a prayer is a "talk" with God. God is merciful and knows all your needs. But still it is at least good behaviour to thank your Creator for things He is giving you and ask for things you need.
It is not true that people who don´t pray will go to hell, nor is it true that everybody who prays enters the Heaven. What counts is your life, love you can show, goodness you practice . If you do a deed of charity or anything to help other person - it counts more that all prayers which can be said automatically without even thinking of God. The least thought of your Lord is already a kind of prayer. If you say: "Thanks God"... and you think about your God helping you in anything - it is a kind of prayer. The meditation about religion is a prayer. It is a link between us and the Heaven.

I think that people just like to hear themselves talk. That's the only rational reasoning behind prayer.

Besides. Why should you pray? If GOD has already mapped everything out in God's divine plan then do you really believe that God will deviate from that plan just because you asked? Very egocentric thinking...

Yes. Prayer is communication with God; the free- will inclusion of him into my life. Because God is real and does love and care about me, I pray. I pray because I love him and love him for loving me first.

Praying is a way to communicate to God. In prayers, you can give thanks for all of your blessings and also express the needs or desires you have. Listing your blessings in your head or outloud helps you realize all that has been given to you. What a great way to be humbled and realize you haven't been forgotten by Heavenyl Fahter. Prayer is a great way to empty your heart of any sadness, as well. Heavenly Father always hears our prayers, always.

Yes I pray. It is the most intimate way for me to communicate with my God.

I used to...because society told me that praying was a given...you should pray. I think society can kiss my non-religious rump. I believe in god, but I also think that god lets me decide my own fate.
Therefore, I take heed to no organized religion. A true freedom that god gives us.

I have always believed that our Creator knows
what we need before we even ask for it. But prayer is keeping the line of communication open. If you want to talk to someone, you have to pick up the phone right? How more difficult to
keep this line open when it's in another dimension? See what I mean?

Yes,I Pray to My Father in heaven every day. It is my way of keeping my relationship with God open. I start every day with the Serenity Prayer.I end every day thanking God for giving me that day. It's really that easy if you have faith and let God guide you every
day.
