Seems to me that The Catholic Church is the one TRUE church founded my St. Peter as a direct result of Jesus Christ, heck founded by
Christ Himself. Thats not good enough for everyone else? It seems as if others have taken the bible and corrupted it for their own means, changing what they didnt like and interpreting it to fit their beliefs.
So what do you non Catholics have to say for yourselves?

No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.

Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.

Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.

If you do not understand this, imagine yourself confronted with a charge for a crime which you know you did not commit. You feel confident that no one can prove guilt because you know that there exists no evidence whatsoever for the charge against you. Now imagine that you stand present in a court of law that allows hearsay as evidence. When the prosecution presents its case, everyone who takes the stand against you claims that you committed the crime, not as a witness themselves, but solely because other people said so. None of these other people, mind you, ever show up in court, nor can anyone find them.

Hearsay does not work as evidence because we have no way of knowing whether the person lies, or simply bases his or her information on wrongful belief or bias. We know from history about witchcraft trials and kangaroo courts that hearsay provides neither reliable nor fair statements of evidence. We know that mythology can arise out of no good information whatsoever. We live in a world where many people believe in demons, UFOs, ghosts, or monsters, and an innumerable number of fantasies believed as fact taken from nothing but belief and hearsay. It derives from these reasons why hearsay cannot serves as good evidence, and the same reasoning must go against the claims of a historical Jesus or any other historical person.

Authors of ancient history today, of course, can only write from indirect observation in a time far removed from their aim. But a valid historian's own writing gets cited with sources that trace to the subject themselves, or to eyewitnesses and artifacts. For example a historian today who writes about the life of George Washington, of course, can not serve as an eyewitness, but he can provide citations to documents which give personal or eyewitness accounts. None of the historians about Jesus give reliable sources to eyewitnesses, therefore all we have remains as hearsay.

What happened was priests got hold of biblical books, which the papacy basically didn't publish, and after reading if for themselves, figured out that many things the catholic church taught simply wasn't right. Peter wasn't catholic, he started the chuch, but he remained a Jew, but a Jew that believed in Christ. The catholic church did and still does have some strange rules, many of which were simly unbiblical, and some of the priests rebelled, wanted to supply the bible to everyone, not just priests, so everyone could read it. The catholic church didn't like that idea at all, wanted to keep control of everything we were told, thus began the whole heretic thing, and the protestant church.

Christ did not found Catholicism....
Christ came to restore a spiritual relationship with man.....not form a religion. Religion is man's attempt to reach God. A relationship is getting to know someone personally. Jesus came to give us life...not religion. Catholicism means 'universal'. So in reality, the Roman Catholic Church is really the Roman Universal Church. It is just another denomination....one that is not Biblical...and in fact is a cult.... teach people to worship Mary instead of Jesus. When you get to heaven, if you do, tell them at the gates you are Catholic.... and you will probably be told... "What's a Catholic? We only allow Christians in here" Its not your denomination that counts, its your relationship to God that matters!
By the way... when is the last time you ever read the Bible? Those who criticize it saying it is corrupted etc. have often neve read it. Start reading in St Johns gospel...

As a revert to the Catholic Church, I agree with you.
Is there to be only one Church or many? According to Scripture, Christ wanted us to be one (John 17:22-23). We are all as a Church to be of one mind and to think the same (Philippians 2:2; Romans 15:5). There is only to be one "faith" (Ephesians 4:3-6), not many. For the Church is Christ's Body and Christ only had one Body, not many. Also, since the Church is Christ's Bride (Ephesians 5:29), can Christ be married to more than one wife (the sin of polygamy)? NO, Christ can only have one wife (i.e., one Church, not many).
"Falsehood is contrary to truth. Now a heretic is one who devises or follows false or new opinions. Therefore heresy is opposed to the truth, on which faith is founded; and consequently it is a species of unbelief.

Accordingly there are two ways in which a man may deviate from the rectitude of the Christian faith.

First, because he is unwilling to assent to Christ: and such a man has an evil will, so to say, in respect of the very end. This belongs to the species of unbelief in pagans and Jews.

Secondly, because, though he intends to assent to Christ, yet he fails in his choice of those things wherein he assents to Christ, because he chooses not what Christ really taught, but the suggestions of his own mind...."- St. Thomas Aquinas ("Summa Theologica" 13th century A.D.)

St. Paul begs the early Christians to be unified in mind and in what they say. There can only be one "true" Christian Church.

How can the Holy Spirit guide the Catholic Church, the Lutheran Church, the Presbyterian Church, the Baptist Church, etc. if all of those denominations have doctrines and beliefs differing from each other? There is only one interpretation of the Bible. Otherwise, people can "read" literally anything into It.

Well the Catholic was not founded by Jesus. The catholic goes against a lot of Jesus' teachings. Like Jesus tells us to not let Wine be a mocker, and the Catholic Churches tell us to Drink and Be merry. Catholics chose to lift up mere humans instead of the the eternal Savior Jesus Christ.

Firstly, Jesus did not start the Catholic church.
Jesus said that Peter the rock; on this rock i will build my congregation Jesus did not say church.
Secondly Peter did not start the Catholic church either. He was in israel not in Rome.
thirdly; the catholic church are having things in traditiion and ways that was not from God (Jesus).
Fourthly, there was no popes until Constantine declared himself pontifus maxsimus.
The first church and the real church of Jesus Christ wa founded in jerusalem and is a Messianic church with no nuns and priests and stuff like that.
When the group was to gig for a house they broke up and started another group(church)
The real church is what the bible says is the ral church not what the pope says it should be.

The church is not where authority is established. The Catholic Church became quite corrupt by selling indulgences...ect... So people (who were currently in the Catholic Church) had to find another way live and worship. And it didn't stop there, how many protestant denominations are there now? Thousands!

This will likely continue until Christ returns.

Christ never originated any church. The first church after christ died were the ana baptists. Catholics didnt come around until LONG after christ's time. The verse you are refering to "on this rock, I build my church" is actualy refering to the public confession that peter made when asked who he thought Christ was. The rock is faith, and in faith, Christ's church is built. I dont go to any one church, for various reasons. Every church interprets the bible differently, that is the only difference in denominations. Again, Anabaptists were the first real christian religion, not catholics.

Jesus never founded any religion. He led an exemplary life, and encouraged all others to do so. Christianity, as such, was not created until after Jesus' death. What we now call "Catholicism" was an outcome of the Council of Nicea, where it was decided which of the many books were to be considered sacred, and added to the Old Testament. Politics played an enormous role in the decision making, resulting in today's confusion among "Cristian" religions.

I say, stop talking in this fashion. It's divisive.

Neither Jesus nor Peter began a "Catholic" church. The first church was based on the gospel and the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Best to follow His ways than try and start trouble, don't you think?

Paul was probably one of the first to spread the word of Christ into mainland of Europe through what is now Turkey. The fact that he was a Roman citizen made it easy for him to spread the Gospel through out the Roman Empire. In regards to Christianity as a religion, I believe it started to take shape shortly after the death of Christ...
