I am Christian. I respect everyone. I may not agree with them, but I respect them. Christians who don't love everyone as their neighbor are not paying attention at Mass. I am sorry if you have met some confused-minded Christians, but really it is all about love. First thing my priest says at Mass is Good morning & welcome to all visitors. You can be of any religion to attend a Catholic Mass.
By the way, you're not gonna get much respect from anyone if this is how you speak to people, by calling their beliefs laughable.

Dude, what is your problem? and why are you referring to "christians" as if they were one entity? and last time i checked, it was mostly gays and freedom-of-choice groups who were publicly demanding respect. I don't care who respects my beliefs or my "illusions", or whatever they may be to you. The only thing that i would consider christian about myself is that i held on to a belief (Christ as our savior and the son of God) that my parents raised me with. I consider it a little investment for my after-life...much like a 401k. If that investment turns out to have been a scam, well then that's my problem, not yours. so why don't you just run along, and maybe jump in traffic or something, and let us know from the other side how your suppossedly respectable beliefs worked out for you. ya hater.

Umm... let me put it to you this way. As Christians we don't give a damn if you respect us. We don't care who is out there. It may be laughable to the ignorant which seems to fit your bill. Wicans are cool. They live their life and we live ours. Now as to the other faiths and beliefs, its the same live and let live. You have another option perhaps. Maybe atheism? The belief that you don't believe in anything? Whatever. I applaud your complete stupidity in using this Q&A to amuse yourself. Now get a job, or do you think those are laughable too.

I will admit to not respecting false religions any more than I respect a lie someone tells, I do try to respect the person and their right to choose the religion they believe in.

I hate abortion but I don't hate everyone who has had one, it's a sin just like any other murder. You need to understand true Christianity, it's about loving and caring about other people, not disrespecting them.

You guy's say abortion is the right to choose, but you take away the babies right to choose life. I have seen my children in ultrasounds and they were alive and real.

You have the right to choose to be against God, that's why he gave you free will. You need to understand that this is what you are doing. It's no joke, it real, you may as well stand and curse God as to say his is not real.

You also need to understand that free will was one of his most loving gifts, he made you above the angels, higher than any other creation. God showed you his true love.

i'm a Taoist, Determinist, Stoic, Chaos Theorist, Pantheist, Atheist. an excellent form of philosophies. particular. Taoism. Derived from Lao Tzu's impressive paintings the Tao te Ching. It teaches the three undemanding virtues, or jewels. Moderation, Humility, and Compassion. It teaches us to now not contrive, and to savour causality. It teaches us that the main appropriate leaders at the instant are not the main enjoyed, yet those whose concerns understand their own accomplishments, and not the 'accomplishments' of the government. Determinism. From the size of the super bang, each and every subject replaced into desperate by using the flexibility and price of its explosion. each and every subject. That there might desire to be existence. What existence might desire to be top right here, all of it. the only exception to this rule is the interaction of subatomic debris on a quantum element--which, easily--has a profound result. Chaos theory: Elaborates on the Quantum mechanics uncertainty rigidity by using determinism. It sums up the two Taoism and Determinism wonderfully. the finished scope of causality, the reason and result nature of the universe, to boot in simple terms by using actuality the very gentle results of tiny, insignificant themes which become substantial themes as time is going on, finally sweeping greater advantageous and greater advantageous up into their path as they tackle new shapes of their own. This finally explains very a lot of evolution, and why it took the paths it did. Stoic. that there is little element at getting disillusioned approximately something. It in simple terms makes themes worse. Pantheist: The Universe is God, and it would desire to or is probable now not as clever because of the fact it particularly is appropriate and problematic. Atheist: there is not any God, keep the possibility of an clever universe. those are my ideals.

Considering the historical importance of Christianity and the development of the western world, it deserves respect.

Every belief system deserves respect, not necessarily because of the validity of the beliefs, but of the human beings that really put faith in them.

everyone's beliefs deserve respect, no matter how unfounded in logic they may be.
what i find interesting as far as christian illusions, is that they honestly believe they respect others beliefs as they say things like "i don't hate the sinner, i hate the sin" or "i respect you, but you're going to burn in hell for all time"

Sure beats the "Hail the big bang" believers, now that's truly laughable! Common sense is definately on the decrease.
