Does anyone know the age which kittens have to be before they need their jabs? Also at what age should male cats go to the vets for spaying?

first of all...males don't get spayed. they get neutered. and you should have it done when they are about 6 months old. this decreases the potential for them to get into bad habits of spraying your house. and it keeps them from becoming tom cats and roaming, so it lowers the cats risk of getting hit by a car, or into fights with other males.

kittens should get their first set of vaccines when they're about 6 weeks old. i know this because i have a 5 week old that i just took the vet the other day and he said i should get him back in in about another week for the first set of shots.

hope this helps.

I got my kittens when they were 8 weeks old. At 10 weeks, they were at the vets for their first shots and wormers. They just went back at 13 weeks for their major shots and blood labs. The vet said between the ages of 5 and 6 months is when they should be neutered and spayed.

First I assume "jabs" are shots, so 6 weeks.
Second males are "neutered" not spayed. That is done at 4 months for dogs & probably applies to cats, too.

6 weeks old for the first round of kitten shots. Male cats can be neutered at 6 months & older. The sooner the better so he doesn't start spraying the house to mark his territory.

Well I recently got a new kitten from the pet store and he has been wormed and checked for fleas and I asked the assistant when should I take him to the vet to get his jabs and he told me that usually kittens/cats don't really need the jabs that the vet tells you they need because they are very hardy animals and generally are fine without them. Although our neighbours also have a kitten and they're taking it to the vet when its 6months to get jabs.

At about 2 months. Spaying is for females, males get neutered.

WHY NOT POP HIM ALONG TO YOUR VET FOR A CHECK UP NO MATTER HOW OLD HE IS THE BEST PERSON TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION WOULD BE A VET AND THE YOUNGER YOU INTRODUCE THE YOUNG FELLA TO THIS BIG SCARY GUY WITH NEEDLES AND SHOTS ETC THE BETTER, I'M GLAD YOU WANT TO GET HIM NEUTERED AS HE'LL BE A MORE FRIENDLY LITTLE CHAP OUR CAT WAS 6 MONTHS OLD WHEN SHE WAS SPAYED.

6 - 8 weeks old, neutering, I suggest for a male just as soon as his little balls drop - that way they never learn how to spray.
