My 2 1/2 year old I nanny for has fair skin and this heat is outrageous! But i'm running out of ideas to try and beat the heat. She hates the sprinkler and the pool is so crowded, do you have any ideas?

I have 2 grandchildren one will be 3 in September and the other 3 in February. They love water and when it is to hot out side for me to take them we have a swim party in Nana's big jaczzi tub.
Then I make us a picnic if it is to hot outside I put a blanket down on the carpet and we have our picnic inside.
On other days when it is to hot for us to go outside we watch a movie and make snowballs or have a popcycle for our special dessert.
We also like to playgames. We do the hokey pokey and sing songs and dance around.
My grandkids love to be read to and they love books so I take them to the library once a week to let them pick a book they would like to have read to them during the week. ( just make sure that they do not write in them or tear them) you will be responsible for them if they are damaged.

I have listed a few websites below that are for Rainy days but they are also good on days when the heat is so high you can't go outside.

Why not make an activity out of the bath. Add some funnels and jugs for water play. Include a range of different sized containers to fill and empty, rotate toys, ie animals one day, boats the next, dinosaurs, add a doll for her to wash, etc. The opportunities are endless...

nothing beats the pool, but if you can't stand the pool, go somewhere heavily airconditioned like the movies

Maybe a children's museum. My boys always have a blast when we go to a place like that. Or a Build-a-bear workshop.

Maybe a water gun fight, how about a kiddie pool, a slip n slide.
