First thing I would do is saturate the stain in dish detergent and soak overnight. Check it, scrub with a brush a little and then wash in COLD in your machine. When you take it out check it again. If it has helped, repeat the procedure. After the detergent soak, you can also rinse and then soak overnight in oxygen (not chlorine) bleach solution, then wash in machine. Don't apply any heat (in washer, dryer or ironing) until the stain has been removed. If the shirt is white, you can try lemon juice on the stain also.

If its been dried in the dryer and heated, I don't think that you can do anything about it now. If its white, you can try to put bleach on the stain but it might turn it yellow. You could also try to use Clorox color safe bleach and pour it directly on the stain. But, I have honestly never been able to get old stains out of clothes and believe me when I say, I do A LOT of clothes. I have 4 kids and a husband and I do anywhere from 10-15 loads a week. When a stain is set in clothes, it is near impossible to get it out.
