making a picture slide show?

I am making a picture slide show of pic from my digital camera set to music but the music is too loud any way to lower the level of the music? I have windows xp and am using nero. looking mabye for a free program? I am burning it to a dvd disk.

I have windows xp too and everytime I go to make a slideshow or something, I just use windows movie maker.
