the reason why it is so expensive because people need food at the game, most baseball games last over an hour. people get hungry. the stadium can make bank by raising the prices and getting more money. why sell at a decent price, when you could raise the price and peopel will still buy?

Well, I like what the 2ND guy said about supply and demand. That is true but I also think that it has to do with the salary they are paying the players. I know that a ball player can only work for a small amount of time, but good lord, $50 million dollars for a 10 year contract is ridiculous! My husband who works hard and makes over $75,000/year, will never come close to the million dollar mark. Even working for 30+ years.

Because they have a captive audience and can charge it. Simple economic theory of supply and demand. There is little supply, lots of demand, so the price goes up.
