Americans are easily distracted. I wonder how often the average American thinks about that day?

To Texas1970: why do you insult your 10 year old? I'm sure his attention span is better than the media.

The wallpaper on my computer at work is a picture of the firemen raising the flag over the rubble of the WTC, so I think of it daily. I think of how it felt watching in real time as plane # 2 hit the tower, how it felt to see footage of Islamic people dancing in the streets at our loss.

That's most of what changed me from being a middle of the road conservative to being a far right winger.

I work less than a mile from The Pentagon, and have been doing so since 1999, so I was very close when the plane hit on 9/11. I drive past the Pentagon twice a day, and not a day goes by that I don't think about it 9/11.

However, a lot of people, even those in Virginia and DC have already gotten distracted, and have forgotten why we need to get rid of the terrorists. It is sad.

WiseVibes, yes, I too think of them from time to time. I purchased a book by Easton Press called One Nation
America Remembers September 11,2001.
I even wrote a poem.

September 11, 2001
Emergency in America

911 our emergency number
On 9-11 our world came asunder
We lost oh, so many and only a few survived
We'll never forget you and the day you died

With our pictures we'll grieve and we'll cry
One day at a time we'll say our goodbyes
America as we know it will never be the same
The World as we know it has forever been changed

But Freedom we still have
They'll never take that away
Freedom we still have
When we see Old Glory every day

yes and i am also way past the idea of getting some justice for them and have moved onto how do we stop it from happening again when we still will not leave the middle east or those nuts alone .
EVERY time i see a new movie pan the sky line it is not the same and everyold movie isee with them there makes me shake my head to think they are no longer standing tall .
i believe had we kept our nose out of the middle east we would not have been attacked .I see so much middle east terroism against brazil .they burn the flag of argentina every day so i must wonder what we did to get so much attention when south america has nude beaches giant jesus statues and sells cocain to the world .hey if i was islamic i would pick them too so why do they ignor them .SIMPLE MEAT HEAD THEY DO NOT BOTHER STICKING THERE NOSE IN EVERYONES BUSINESS .
A FIGHT ENDS WHEN THE BELL RINGS AND SO FAR WE HAVE NO REFEREE IN THE RING .
SO WE NEED TO GET OUT .CAUSE THE RING IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE DUMBA$$.

As a New Yorker and someone who was there that day, I still have nightmares of the people that had to jump out of the burning buildings. What really bothers me is the inconsistencies and unanswered questions that our government is side stepping.
I hate what I am finding and the conclusions they are guiding me to. Ironically the last photograph I shot in Manhattan was that of the WTC...I cherish that picture a great deal, although it breaks my heart to look at it sometimes.

Daily here. My wife and my mother and aunt were all touring the White House on the morning of Sept 11, 2001. I nearly lost them all when Bin Laden and crew decided to attack non-combatant civilians to make a point. Less than men, worse than cowards.

Never forget, never forgive.

Every day for me. I think of them constantly. I try to keep that wound as fresh as possible. That's why I have a photo album full of news clippings from that time, and I look through it whenever I think that the pain is fading.
I've had people not be able to finish looking at the album because it's too painful...but I force myself to look.

Yes, I do. I think Every time I get in my car. "I better put my seat belt on.." There's a reason for everything and I feel so bad for all the families of people who lost their lives... I wish I could bring them all back, but I can't... Memories keep this world going not present activities!
