They are two large dogs. We have put huge logs, rocks and stuck stakes in the ground, but they can even move the logs that I, myself, can't even roll without help. I have run out of ideas on what to put under there that will deter them. I was considering putting cement under the fence, but not sure if that's difficult. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Side note: We live across the street from a lake that at this moment has over 50 ducks - my dogs LOVE to chase them, which is why they want out of the yard.

If you have the space in your yard, I suggest building a "Dig Box" (similar to a sand box for children) for your two dogs.

Certain breeds -- such as terriers -- are natural diggers and if given a specific digging space, will concentrate on that one area, as opposed to digging where they should not.

I was watching Animal Planet the other day and this dog expert said to put down chicken wire, secure it, then put dirt over the chicken wire. What's on the other side of the fence that they are so interested in?

If you own and can bury things in your own yard, you might try putting set mouse-traps in the loose ground where they dig. Just the sound is usually shock enough, but if they actually get pinched it'll eventually teach them not to dig. If you're out in the yard and they start to dig, just remember to let them know that that's not acceptable behavior.

This is what we did. We dug a a little mote thing by the fence or under the fence, then we put chiken wire in the mote and barried it. It should stop the dogs.

too add to Putputs answer do down to just below ground level & bend it in in a L shppe for a foot or so, then cover with soil. They dig down, hit the wire & rarely think to back up a foot.

You should put chicken wire or mesh on the bottom of the fence.
