Everytime I click a link for downloading, I am asked whether "Open File Using" a certain application, or to "Save to Disk", which is normal. However, the incorporated download manager does not initiate. What is wrong?

I just installed the most recent Firefox version. However, the download manager of firefox does not seem to respond to any downloads. I could still view it but it's blank.

Open the download manager. It should at least show that it is trying to initiate the download. Have you installed the latest firefox?

Go to EDIT then PREFERENCES. Under the Navigator category, go to DOWNLOADS and make sure the option is set to open the download manager.

Go to TOOLS then Download Manager and make sure it has a location to where to store your downloaded files and make sure that location is not protected. If that folder is protected to not copy files into it, then you need to fix that.

Also, you might want to get a new download manager if Firefox is being naughty. Try http://www.speedbit.com
