Dorm decorating ideas! Someone help me out please?

Question

My dorm is kinda small but me and my roomie want it to kick butt!! Does anyone have any good decorating ideas? We can't paint the walls but I think we can use sticky tack. I want my dorm to be so awesome that I want to stay there! Someone give me some good tips please. Thanks ya'll, much love you ya!

Get some inexpensive fabrics, (sheer, satin, cotton- mix it up) in a variety (but complementary) colors & prints. Tack em up. You can put solid heavier fabrics directly onto the wall and then layer with the sheer gauzier fabrics, draping and pinning to your tastes. Drape some from middle of room to give it that intimate feeling and have some curtain ties handy for when you're hanging out and want to open the room up some more. The nice thing is you can easily change the look of the whole room just by changing a few panels (think bold colors or patterns for a more vibrant look or softer pastels for a soothing look) You can sometimes find whole bolts of fabrics at fabric stores that'll be clearance or ready to be tossed and you can get them on the cheap. For an added flavor go to your local craft store, pick up some heavy duty thread and an economy sized thing of beads, string up some beads and with a little thread here and there sew them onto the edges of the panels. Mix those up too, I like the glass & iridescent beads as they catch and reflect light so nicely. For the floor, hit up thrift stores for rag rugs, cheap easy floor covering and sometimes you can find some really funky colors and styles. Same thing for oversized pillows. Get a variety of sizes and shapes, you can always cover them over with extra bits of the fabric from the walls to change the look up even more. Have them for your beds and oversized ones for just lounging around the room.

what you guys like the most????

is it flowers or stars or cars or mountains....

get your dorm, multi colored as in
Pink and Voilet. or
Green and Yellow , etc.,

make sure you have everything that rocks

right from Phone to flower pot to photo frames, everything unique.

get colored bedspreads, if your dorm is small, most of tha is occupied with bed. so target bed as your first object.

You can use laundry detergent to write things on your walls that are only visible with a black light (very inexpensive. Check if you have a Spencer's Gifts in your area). Laundry detergent also works great if you use some in different bottles. Use highlighters (or another light color marker) to color the outside of the bottles to make them appear different colors.

what looks really awesome is having a room all safari..i painted my wall black and used a rolled up rag and rolled it parallel down my walls with dark green. I had a safari comforter and zebras girrafes and tiger pics on the walls. I also had elephant figurines and an elephant plant in there ..my friends loved it..

Honestly, calling your roommate and getting together with them will help, 'cause you can coordinate. Also, pink and purples work well in dorm rooms, and turn guys on when they come in. For serious.
