God is just a myth. We're on our own.

Sometimes I feel the same way. As for God allowing all the pain in the world, the only way I know to answer that is God gives us all a free will, to do right or wrong with it.
I've heard the "testing" argument. If that's the case, I've had just about enough testing, thank you. Life can be very, very difficult, and seeing the things going on around the globe makes it even more so.
I don't understand the way God works, but I know He loves us. Sure has a funny way of showing it sometimes though. Hang in there - things will get better.

You're going to get some cliche answers about the Truth that God loves all of us, but try to listen a little. As much as I see the all of the pain and hurt in the world, I know that all of that pain is caused by humans. The joy and beauty of being able to see beyond the pain into the love of Christ is so freeing. Without the love of Christ the world is always going to suffer. We are always going to live in sin and the result of that is what you see in the world. Fighting, killing, hunger, everything. I am positive that God loves us, because I still see plenty of good in this world.

The classical christian interpretation of god is that god is omnipotent, omniscient, and all loving.
This is impossible. Though one can say that God does not prevent human ills in order to offer us free will (which is a bunk arguement anyway, since god CAN give us free will without forcing us to have pain), that still means he's allowing natural disasters and other events not cause by human free will. If god can do anything, and wants us to be in the best possible situation, he can just do it. Tests aren't necessary, because he can MAKE them unnessecary. As an omnipotent being, if god is allowing us to suffer, he is allowing us to suffer for suffering's sake, not in order to "teach" us something.
Then again, if god ISN'T omnipotent, then this is all moot, and stop blaming him. And if god isn't omnibenevolent (all loving) and is just totally apathetic then, well, oh well. Kind of depressing, but that's the way we roll the bones.

Just because God doesn't interfere, that doesn't mean he doesn't love us. In fact, the worst thing God could do would be to interfere with our agency/free will. The greatest gift God gave us was the ability to make our own choices (including mistakes) and think for ourselves. I don't think it's just because he's testing us. I mean... how else are we supposed to learn and grow if we don't learn to think for ourselves? Of course bad things happen, God didn't make them happen or cause bad things to happen to good people as many claim. He lets human beings make their own choices, and often those choices are mistakes and have serious consequences. Even so, God has a whole different perspective on this earthly life than we do. As far as we're concerned, this earth life is everything....this is all we know. But God can see the whole picture. In reality, this earth life is not event a pinpoint in our eternal progression. When we die and are able to see the bigger picture, things that happened in this life won't seem hardly as big of a deal than the way we see them now.

What is your definition of Love? Do you want someone to Love you meaning that they make every decision for you and make sure nothing goes wrong? Is that love? If you had a teenager and you made every choice for them and didn't let them experience any pain, would that be love? Love is letting us learn and grow, learn that when we make mistakes there is pain and when we make good choices there is joy. Love is letting us find these things out for ourselves, without forcing us to always make the right choice. Love is giving us freedom to choose and act how we want to, and letting us learn that all actions have consequences. Love is creating a place where we can do all this and then creating a plan where we can make mistakes and still return to live with Him- even after we have messed up bad.

God does care about and love us. But sin separates us from God. Ever since Adam and Eve sinned, things have been going wrong. The genetic code deteriorates through mutations, we have death and disease, and all kinds of pain and suffering. Sin caused those things. God does love us, that's why He sent Jesus to die for us, we just need to understand that we're in a fallen world, and bad things happen. God will change it, He'll create a new world, where there won't be and death or pain, but we have to wait for it. If you want to talk to me about this at all, my AIM sn is jonjames1986

People always wonder that and it pretty much comes down to this:
God works in mysterious ways. Sometimes, he allows suffering for the better good. He is also punishing us for sins (similarly, when a parents spanks the child). Therefore, the suffering is around so that 1) we won't be spoiled brats, 2) so that we learn from our experiences and 3) to make us better people in the long run.
I know it will be a concept that is very hard to understand, but that is about as good explanation as I can give.

I know this sounds crazy, but you have to ask god into your life, he was there for the human race and still is, however, through science and technology, we (as a human race) have always tried to prove we can do without him by taking prayer out of schools, and religion from politics. If you ask me it's our turn to show we care. And that we do need him NOT to say he doesn't give a f*** about us. Because i'm sure if he wanted to he would've gotten rid of us a long time ago. I would just have faith belive me we all know as christians how this is going to end......WITH GOD... Also it's not god who doesn't care about you it's the devil, and he would love to turn you away from god and believe that he's not in our lives....

Maybe you are looking for an answer RIGHT NOW and are you God? Sometimes things are hard to explain but God loves us so much he lets us do whatever we want. Did your parents give you everything you ever wanted? I'm sure they did not but they love you most likely.
Plus you spelled the f word wrong. You put 4 * instead of 3!

The pain of the world is the result of the first Fall. I cannot help the pain that happens to innocent people, and neither can you. God allows it, because it was sinful man himself who wanted it in the first place. What are you doing to stay pure unto God?
