Why did you ask him to take the call for you? Is he your manager? I work in a call center and we get escalated callers all the time. We, as co-workers, never ask each other to take each others calls. If they get too bad and want to speak to our supervisor, we will transfer to her... but unless he is your supervisor, you probably shouldn't ask him to take your calls. We do, however, ask each other advice on what to do with certain callers. Just to make sure we are handling the issue in the best way possible.

You should definitely apologize for calling him a name. Foul language has no place in an office environment.

Best of luck.

I had experienced the same thing at work. When you work around the same people day by day and week by week, you develop a sort of sibling or family environment. We all know how your brother or sister can get on your last nerve to the point sometimes where you won't even talk to each other. In time, that "hatred" eases up and your back cool with each other. Just keep being you and eventually the tension will ease.

It's time to behave like a grown-up and talk to your co-worker. You need to apologize for being a jerk, and thank your co-worker for helping out with the call. If your co-worker doesn't respond by apologizing for making you look bad to the customer, you can bring up the subject yourself if you want to. Say something like, "I'm sorry I got angry with you. It felt like you were making me look bad to the customer." And see where the conversation goes from there. Whatever you do, don't get angry or start calling your co-worker names. You must keep your voice down, remain calm, and control yourself--no matter what.

Your goal is not to be "right" but to have a restored working relationship with this person. Keep that in mind.

You responded to his unproffessional bull$hit with unprofessional bull$hit. Of course there's tension! There's no clear winner in your poo flinging contest.
You really want to make it better?
Go back to the co-worker and apologize (whether you think you should or not). Explain that it was unacceptable for you to act the way you did. Then explain that you were stressed, and that you felt that the way he handled the problem made you look like an idiot. Say that the way he handled the situation disappointed you, and that you should not have said what you said, and for that you apologize.
Good Luck

He was pacifying the customer. I think it did not help matters when after asking him for help you called him an ***. He should not have blamed you for the problems the customer was having and you should of asked him why he did that. Just go up to him and say look I am sorry I called you an *** but why did you make me look bad? See if that helps.

You should tell your co worker that he did not handle the situation appropriatley. You should also tell him that it upset you that he made you look bad. Tell him that you were also wrong for calling him an a*s. Hopefully both of you will apologize and that will ease the tension.

Talk to him! Tell him I was looking towards you for help and I don't feel like you helped me at all! In fact I'm really mad at you for what you said! Clear the air and you'll feel better.

Quickest way to resolve any conflict is to admit fault and apologize.
