ArE YoU ReaDing THESE YOURSELF or making them UP???

MARK 6:11 says," And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave, as a testimony against them" Meaning, don't even take their dirt with you as you leave.

THERE IS NO JUDE 5, but if you mean Jude 1:5, then yes, you go to hell when you die if you do not believe.

Deuteronomy:13:6--you are generalizing!! "it says, "if your brother or sister, or son or daughter, or husband or wife tries to secretly entice you..." Not, if they do then they die...

Deuteronomy 13:12 "if wicked men have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray," NOT go to a town and kill all its people, as you have implied, again we have similar laws today, corruption of a minor, supplying for a minor, dealing drugs...

Deutreronomy 17:12-13--not who does not listen to a priest, the section is even called, "LAW COURTS" its about being in contempt of court, even we punish people for that

As for the old testament, yes that was the law for the Jews, but the good news is, we have a saviour, and can be forgiven for our sins rather than being punished by others immediately. Those sins still lead to spiritual death if you are not saved by Christ.

Gross miss-representation.

These scriptures do not say kill everyone who disagrees with you, or kill everyone in a city if the inhabitants worship differently then you. Read the verses in context.

Look at the general population of Christians today- do they run around and murder people? I can guarantee you that the murder and violence rate is much lower in areas where there is a high Christian population.

You take these a bit out of context. God has the authority and justification to not only kill the body, but throw the soul into the eternal lake of fire [Rev. 20]. Rom. 3:23 states we are all sinners. The just price of sin before a holy God is death. However, it is not for man to take life and death into his own hands, for who are we to judge? We should not elevate ourselves to be God! Rather, if God wishes to take the life from the wicked He will -- He does not need man. Consider Sodom and Gomorrah...the Flood...Revelation...and many more examples are in the Bible. There are times when God specifically directs man to kill. This is mostly found...as you have found...in the Old Testament. The fleeing Israelites had many battles, where God was with them and made them victorious. But this is God's perogative and direction...not man's. Deuteronomy also states in 32:39, "See now that I, I am He, and there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, and there is no one who can deliver from My hand." Concerning us, God gives clear direction in Exodus 20:13 "You shall not murder."

The fact that God exercises His authority over life and death should not encourage us to do likewise, for to do so incorrectly elevates us to God-like status, judging others with their lives. We are to obey God, and not murder.

Thanks for this question, because it helps us all understand better the nature of God, and how serious we need to take Him. It also illustrates how many people take passages out of context, which twists the truth and understanding.

Those are all old testament quotes. They do not apply to how God deals with people today. Evidently you do not know God or you would not ask such a stupid question.

All the references from the old testament, were because we had no other way. The references in the new tetament, are because God will destroy those who sin, murder, etc...

I'm glad we're not under the law now, aren't you? And as far as the two New Testament passages, since you know them, you are accountable. You have been warned; now what do you need to do about it?
