You have to learn that when they go in the house its not their fault...its yours....at least at first....
The biggest thing is you have to take them out side like every 15 minutes.
if they take a nap and wake up...get them out...or they will pee.
Praise and reward when he makes it out side....dont really punish for in the house. Show it to them then take them out side....if they go...reward them and take them in....if they dont go...leave them out there....if possible.
They will start to catch on... they will start to know that in the house is bad...
Dogs minds are very simple...they work on a reward system. They will remember they got a treat for doing a certain action.

If you are a crate person...that helps..but it needs to be small enough for them to just stand and be able to turn around. If it is too big, they will find a corner to mess in.

Good luck...

No matter how inconvenient it is for you--get him on a schedule. Go outside at the same time everyday, feed him at the same time, and play with him at the same time. If you get him on a schedule, then you and the puppy will not have any accidents. The outside times will be more frequent when he is younger, but should reduce by about half as he gets full grown. Also, remember to make a potty run about 15-20 minutes after he eats. This will also change as he gets older. I have a 3 year old boxer and I have to walk him about 45 minutes after he eats.

So, if you come up with a schedule that you and the puppy can live with--stick to it. it will take about 6-9 months before there aren't any more accidents, but you will see a difference in the first few days.

At five weeks old he is too young to be away from the mother, he is not fully weaned and they can't hold their bladder for more than 2 hours until they are about 14 weeks old. Your best bet for now is to take it outside to go every couple of hours and at night time place it in a crate so it will not make a mess on the floor. Crate training is the fastest way to train once they are old enough. Always take the puppy out the same door to go outside to potty and always go to the same area in the yard.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aMPh3

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

training your dog will take some time, but I've had my dog for 4 years since she was a baby, and we trained her very well. Go to a pet store and buy dippers for your dog. There not dippers that you actually put on your dog, you place them on the floor where ever your dog is peeing (usually on a carpet or beside a door) . These dippers have a smell on them that sorta spells like pee to the dog and they do there business on it. They work. we had them. And if you worry about your dog ever crossing the street get an invisible fence for them. My dog has had it since she was 1 years old. And we leave her outside all the time when we go places and everything, and shes always outside on the lawn. She never crosses the street. Ask your vet about it. It works, 100% guaranteed. And don't feel bad to punish your dog. Don't hit them, cause that will just show violence. Put them outside and tell them it's bad or what ever. It worked for my puppy. GOOD LUCK!

make a routine right from the start.

everytime you get ready to take him out stand at the door and say let's go potty. he will learn this quick.

always take your pup out at the same time everyday. if you don't work, make it atleast once every hour. if you do have to work then make sure you leave him in a crate. some people think it is cruel but they need their own area where they feel safe. after he is a little older he won't potty in it. it is like having his own bedroom to go in.

okay, so go out often.
after he goes potty let him play or sniff around for a few minutes or he will associate going potty with having to go back inside and will not potty outside but will wait until he goes in.

don't hit him if he has an accident inside, it will only cause you problems when you go outside.

after you feed him wait a about 10 - 15 minutes and take him out.

it takes a few weeks to get it down good. have patience and give it time. good luck with your new pup.

MOST PEOPLE TAKE THE PUPPY OUT FOR 5 MINUTES EVERY HOUR....................I TAKE MINE OUTSIDE AND STAY OUTSIDE AND THEN BRING THEM IN FOR 5 MINUTES EVERY HOUR...........THIS TAKES A WHOLE DAY, BUT WORKS IN ONE DAY. THE TRICK IS TO NEVER LET THEM PEE OR POO EVEN ONE TIME IN THE HOUSE. OFFER LOTS OF WATER DURING THIS TIME.........IF THEY DON'T HAVE TO "GO" ....IT'S A WASTE OF TIME.

you have to hit them on the nose every time you see them squatting to go to the bathroom in your house.....and you have to take them on at least 2 walks a day in order to allow them to do their busness. give them a lil pet behind the ears once they've done their busness outside...to reinforce them to feel ok to go to the bathroom outside, but no tin the house.
