I have a lot of kids.
Bethany, 8
Nick, 5
Tyler, 3
Nigel, 2 months
Gabriella, 2 weeks ADOPTED

I feel like they don't get enough attention, but Nigel and Gabriella get a lot from other people, most people think they're twins because they look a like so much ( their cousins) and Gabby's big and *** was small. So they look a like!

What should I do???

Try to find ways to spend one-on-one time with the older kids so that they don't feel jealous or displaced by the two babies.

If you can get the youngest ones to nap at the same time, do something special with the older kids.

Try to have at least 5 minutes for each child where you can connect each day without being interrupted.

First off, Kudos to you for adopting Gabriella. There are so many children out there that need someone to love them!!! Ok, about your problem. I would think that the other kids aren't getting as much attention for Nigel and Gabriella are little and you probably spend alot of time changing diapers and feeding them, etc. So what I would do is make sure you spend equal about of time with all the kids if you can. When Gabby and *** are older then they probably will hate that every one will think they are twins but they will have each other and will probably be thick as thieves with each other.

As a mother of 4 myself, I do understand where you are coming from - especially with having two so close in age.

Try (I know easier said than done) to set aside a few minutes each evening to spend one on one time with them. I take 5 minuetes every night to lie down with each of my children and discuss how their day went, read a book and say our prayers. In the big scheme of things, 5 minutes is not a long time, but they are small and it seems like an eternity to them.

To me it sounds like your saying that "other people", not yourself, pay more attention to the youngest two. When you around people and they start paying attention tho them point out the other children. A lot of people are baby crazy, and it's just natural to give them attention. I have even Catch myself being guilty of this when I'm around people and there children. I always try to catch myself and apologize. Just let point out the older children to people. If they still don't want to pay them any attention then don't go around them.
