Rotisserie Chicken Rub
A flavorful roasted chicken dish that has been rubbed with a savory spice mix.I added sage, thyme, rosmary and lemon Pepper Ingredients:
• 4 tsp salt
• 2 tsp paprika
• 1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp thyme
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder or crushed garlic clove
1/2 tsp sage

1/2 tsp Rosemary
1 tsp Lemon Pepper
• 1 large roasting chicken
Method:
In a small bowl, combine all the spices and mix well. Rub the spice into the chicken, making sure it is distributed evenly. Place in plastic bag, seal, and keep in fridge overnight. Rotisserie chicken or, if you don't have one, place chicken in shallow roasting pan, uncovered, at 250 deg for 4 hours. After the first hour, baste chicken every so often with pan juices and melted butter. Juices will start to carmelize on bottom of pan and chicken will turn golden brown. Let it sit for 10 minutes before carving.

Yuk sounds like a store bought ingredients list.

I use my showtime rotisserie and prepare it this way:
Rinse chicken under cold water and remove inner parts in the body cavity. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
Prepare softened butter, fresh garlic thru a press, dried poultry seasoning (sage, thyme, rosemary, parsley) and zest of one lemon finely minced.
Lather seasoned butter mixture under the skin of the chicken.
Place a quartered cut onion and halved lemon in the cavity and tie the legs together to hold these contents in the body cavity.
Sprinkle Old Bay or just salt and pepper over the entire chicken and then cook on the rotisserie until golden brown and clear liquid comes out.
