Christians are far from being perfect, we are saved by the grace of God. Romans 3:23 " All have sinned and are not good enough for God's glory, and all need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift." Even after you take this gift which is the crucifixion of Jesus, you are still not perfect. The bible teaches us that we are to love everyone equally and that we are not place judgement on anyone . We are to live our lives as Christ lived his on earth. We are to share the good news of our savior and try to save the sinners from themselves and from the persecution of God. There is no dress code, you are to dress appropriately. Keep your body decently covered. The attitude we are to carry is of love. Christians will never be perfected until after they have reached heaven. Until then they are still easily tempted with life's troubles as everyone else. I guess in a way you are a party pooper when you are a christian, because your body is considered to God's temple and he has asked us not to defile our temple. So, drugs, alcohol, smoking, would be considered defiling your body, and it would make someone a party pooper. There are other ways to have fun without doing what other people do to have fun. Drugs, and parties normally come with problems at some point. It is not worth it. God has put you here with a purpose that he designed you for. He is will show you what your purpose is and he will lead you in the directions that he wants you to and prosper. If you stay in God's willl you will be rewarded and very happy for what God has done for you. Persecution is a part of being a christian. Matthew 5:11 "People will insult and hurt you. They will lie and say all kinds of eving things about you because you follow me. But when they do, you will be happy. Rejoice and be glad, because you have a great reward waiting for you in heaven. People did the same evil things to the prophets who lived before you."
Seek God first and pray to him about every step that you take in life and he will be there to lead and guide you through it all. He will never leave nor forsake you and he will give you the strength to conquer all and he will show you things around you. The only dresscode that is required for a christian other than the armor of god, is a change of heart.

I don't know what kind of church you go to... but Christianity can be lots of fun. You don't have to look like a prude to be a Christian. Parents may set stardard for you but it is not because they want you to suffer--its because they love you and want you to be protected from the dangers out there that you are not aware of. The Bible does set some standard for behavior and dress and that is what we should follow...not what a church or a person tells you. The bible tells us we are to dress with moderation...modesty... So people don't think we are rich or proud or stuck on ourselves. We are not to be a stumbling block to others....that is, cause others to sin because of the way we dress or act. So that means, if we dress in a way that causes people to lust or want our bodies, then we are doing it wrong. I always try to dress in a way that would please Jesus. When I do this everything else just falls into place.
As for the fun part... there is nothing wrong with Christians having fun... They can go to the theme parks, enjoy sports, and all the other fun activities out there that are good for you body, your mind and your spirit. But... if you think fun is doing drugs, drinking...having sex before marriage... Those things may start out at fun but will always end up in sorrow... cracking up the car...killing someone accidently... getting pregnant and having to pay child support for the next 18 years... or ending up in jail on drug charges...when you had plans for college and life...
Those who are trying to guide you...care about you... love you enough to put up boundaries to help you make wise choices until you can make those choices on you own with wisdom... Don't fight it...learn from it! You are blessed to have someone who cares about you enough to do that for you. If your friends are calling you a party pooper... try some new friends... they are not really friends... they just want to use you as an excuse to do the bad stuff they are into. Ride the higher road... Choose carefully and in the end you will be glad you did.

Well, if you go to the right parties, you don't have to be a pooper!
I'm know some non-Christians that wear knee length skirts!
Christians are not perfect, just forgiven!

Yeah, believe it or not, I'm 55, and I feel exactly the same way. (LOL, about a year ago, I put a pink streak in my silver hair...should have seen how it freaked those old gals in my Sunday School class out!)
BUT, being a Christian doesn't mean you have to be dull or boring. But it does mean remembering Who you belong to, and Who you represent. We have a great responsibility, because we are His witnesses in the world. Remember, you are the only Jesus some of your friends know.

Just be yourself. It is Jesus who does the will in you to do good. Being a christian is not being a wet blanket. It is being a person who not only makes their own choices but is willing and ready to take the responsibility of those choices. Have fun and ignore the "real" party poopers. ;-)

If you are letting it all hang out... giving the world some eye candy... advertising your wares... then you are going to get exactly what the world thinks you want by doing so... If you look like you are willing to give it out...then you will be expected to give it out... go down...spread em babey... that is the crudness of the world.... if you dress and act like that is what you are willing to go along with, then that is what you are to the world....EVERY male evaluates EVERY female in a sexual context... you are being judged every moment...If you post it...you are going to get hits... if you dont want them dont advertise...

If you are truly of the Christian Faith you will strive to follow God's will through understanding Jesus' teaching... is your dress and actions showing the world you have respect for God's will and for yourself...or are you telling the world that you care more about getting hit on.. than getting into heaven and eternal happiness?

no one can decide yet another by being "pretend" or no longer, yet from my expertise "genuine" Christians are very uncommon and this position certaintly exhibits it. Being Christian purely ability follower of Christ. trust the message that Jesus' blood will pay for all of your sins. provide up your previous way of existence and function Jesus come into you. that's all being a Christian ability. there are a range of of "Christians" who nevertheless adjust to the international believing in lies alongside with evolution. count number on Jesus because the purely thanks to salvation and the Bible because the purely reality then you fairly could have a own courting with God. he receives Godly information into you as he's doing to me. the own courting with God is the most particular ingredient. I pray that God blesses you with the Holy Spirit.

I don't have that problem.....I follow Jesus and I am fun and have a full life and I don't wear clothes such as you describe ....life is good...Christianity is a Faith and relationship with God not a religion based on mans rules and laws that stifle and hinder all that is good of God.....be yourself and Live for Jesus.....it is mans laws and religion that have amde people see the church as they do today and that in turn has blocked any of them from seeing the true freedom and good full life Jesus offers.....

Why not consider NOT being a Christian? I am quite certain you haven't gotten into questioning your faith yet because of your defensive posture on your post. You really should explore other faiths and see which is right/correct for you before defending one that seems to cause you grief. Perhaps you need the Uncommon Denomination...check us out at WWW.UUA.ORG. PEACE!

To me, Christianity is a lot more exciting than being otherwise.

Like the bumper sticker says, "Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven."

As to knee-length skirts, that's just to keep the Christian guys from being tempted and the unbelievers from tempting you. And if you go to the right parties, you won't "poop" them.
