Love isn't just a four-letter word. It's not just an action. It's not the funny feeling in your stomach. It's not physical attraction. IT'S A CHOICE, and you have to make that choice every day.

The Bible has a lot to say about love, and here's the test:
1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. 2If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. 3-7If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
8-10Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.
11When I was an infant at my mother's breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.
12We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!
13But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.
1 Corinthians 13 (The Message translation)

13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13 (NIV)

By the way they treat you. It's not just about saying the words, but actions. Does he/she do little things for you? Cook for you? Buy you little greeting cards for no reason? Make you laugh? Watch foreign movies w/you? Tell you he/she loves you and is happy he/she found you. Remembers little things you like or things about when you first met. Asks you to marry him/her. Keeps asking to marry you. Buys you a ring. Likes to cuddle. Is liked by you kids if you have any? Is loving towards those kids. Calls the kids "son" or "daughter."
Has a lot of common with you. You can tell by the way they look at you and into your eyes. You will see it!
If you don't see it or feel unsure, maybe the person doesn't really love you after all.

You will never really know that 100% unless you were in his heart and soul and his brain. Only the person that is in love can tell or knows when they are in love. I hope that answered your quesiton. You might be able to tell a little by his actions. But then again he might just be trying to get into your pants. So time will tell I guess.

Saying that they love you and showing it are two different things.Actions speak louder then words. You can look into a persons eyes and when they say it if they are looking the other way then they probably don't mean it.You'll know by the way they show you.You will feel it too.

A little trust issue? If you don't trust that the person is telling the truth, why are you with them?? Guys will say they love you either because they really do or they want to get laid...NOTHING in between. Girls will tell you they love you because they either really do or they desperately need to hear it back...NOTHING in between. This is about trust. Do you trust this person???

You can tell by their actions. If they are willing to do any and everything for you, even if it takes every ounce of energy from their bodies, then they love you.

good, i really like listening to it! i take it as both recognition or it method he is dishonest on me. recognition that means that he relatively does love me and, if even viable, desires to preserve me nearer. Or frequently men do not desire you to get supicious in their dishonest and simply spit out the phrases absentmindedly. But i hardly ever consider of it that method. Typically I can inform it in his eyes if he is doing anything improper at the back of my again. But like i mentioned previous, I love listening to the ones phrases in my ear!!! We take the phrases good!
