Regular soda contains alot of calories, if you drink alot of it and then replace it with water, you may be drastically cutting calories from your diet, which will result in weight loss!

As for diet soda - it contains a lot of salt, cutting it out may result in less bloating or water retention, and possibly less cravings.

The sugars in soda, no matter if they are synthetic or natural sugars exchange in your system in to carbohydrates.

Carbohydrates are made from sugars and starches and are the fuel that your body runs on.

When you do not use more carbs than you ingest into your body, it stores it as FAT... for a long time. Then by ingestion of more sugars you are storing more carbs, which eventually turn into the fat that your body stores.

That's why people who cut out carbs are also cutting out sugars and starches from their diets.

No sugar, no pasta, no potato.

Yes, it works. But works faster when you exercise.

If you choose to cut out sugar from your diet, you should replace the sugars you lose with eating fruits and vegetables.

These sugars are unprocessed and are better for your body.

Sodas have empty carbohydrates (CHO) in them. The CHO make your body work extra, but reaps no benefits. The empty CHOs are stored as fat.
