ABSOLUTELY! I'm a mom and I would love one of my kids to make me a cake. I'd want it even if it fell on the floor. You are very sweet and your mom should appreciate that you tried with all of your heart.

PS - You are still your mom's kid, even at 21...and I am sure she will very much appreciate it!

I'm sure she'll still love it, but if you're really not sure, you could chop it up into little 2-inch squares and layer it in a bowl with the cake on bottom, layer of cool whip, chopped candy bars like Heath or Butterfinger, and a drizzle of chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. Then repeat the layers and it becomes a birthday trifle!

Give her the cake! Take this advise for a mother and a grandmother. I would rather have a lop sided, flat, dried out cake that was made special for me than the most expensive and well decorated cake you could buy. I mean this from the bottom of my heart, and so will your mother.

Why not?

Some of the best cakes I've ever made were made without blenders or mixers.

Happy birthday to your mom!

are you kidding?!? of course you should give her the cake. mom's live for stuff like that. why do you think that moms keep all those silly little drawings that we did when we were kids? just the fact that you took the time to make something for her will matter more than the fact that it's not quite perfect.

Yes, it's the thought that counts. If you are really self-conscious about it, mention to her that it's not perfect because of the mixer. I'm sure she'll understand.

I am a mom of two, and I would so appreciate the effort of one of my children making me a cake. Just knowing they took the time to make it with love would make it so extra-special! Celebrate your mom's birthday! and know that she'll be proud - you're a great kid! She'll know you love her and I am sure it will taste great!

most definately it came from the heart and you cant get that in no store bought cake good going its the thought that counts and mammas love it when you care enough to do your very best and it sounds like you did

I don't think ur mom's worried about if it came out "perfectly". As long as it doesn't look despicable, and u did ur best on it , i'm sure she'll not only enjoy it, but possibly compliment u as well.

The time, effort, and love that you put into it will mean more than whether the cake is perfect. Besides, I bet it will taste good anyway.
