Actually, all it is doing is making you angry.

Perhaps you are phrasing your questions in such a way as to bait people.

I often ask questions here just to get a sense of people's opinions. If that's why you're asking, try asking in a different way.

Right in the question you've posted here, you are swearing... that's not a good way to start.

Always start by taking a deep breath, chilling a moment, and asking yourself if your words are communicating what you want.
That's just my opinion anyway.

Good luck.

In regard to questions about this war? Hey friend, emotions are running high on both sides of the issue, and compromise and communication seem impossible in the current climate.

This is one way this war is exactly like the Viet Nam debacle. People are seriously polarized.

I don't know what your position is, but I don't think you should get bashed, whatever it is.

I find that verbal abuse is proportional to lack of anything cogent to say. The more ignorant people are, the more feeble the arguments for their side, the more likely they are to resort to abuse, which is the verbal edition of the appeal to force.

This war is something people tend to be for or against from an emotional standpoint: the feeling that we were lied into it; or that, justified or not, the follow-through was incompetent; or the feeling that criticizing the war is somehow unpatriotic (a confusion which Republicans cynically exploit). If a person whose opinion is emotinally driven is not well informed and doesn't know how to argue his or her case, that is a recipe for abusive behavior.

Then of course, there are the "flamers" -- emotionally immature people (I suspect a lot of them are adolescent males) who cruise the newsgroups and blogs looking to pick a fight with anyone about anything and who somehow think that name-calling is clever.

You shouldn't take any of it seriously.

I study your very last 3 questions... about 5 bush bashings out of about 50 solutions... Math wasn't your appropriate concern... and also you look to have a situation with reality too... are you able to possibly cite what you're speaking about?

One of the reasons that you are getting the answers that you are getting is because of the way that you phrase the question. When I read your question I sense that you are against our soldier and the job that they are currently preforming in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you where to phrase your questions in a different manner you would probably get a different response. P.S. leave out the cursing.

I think some people just surf sites like this to stir up as much conflict as they can, they don't care about the question as much as they want to get a rise out of a person. Basic lack of maturity.

My advice is to:

1) review your post to make sure that it contains no political connotations or content

2) try to make your question technical.

3) Do not make accusations. Remember that there are two sides to every story and that looking at a picture of a dead child does not tell you if anybody in particular is at fault.

Just from looking at your last question it would help to quote your sources, like where you get the information of our troops just opening fire on an innocent town.
It would also help if you didn't try to immediately put down everyone that does not agree with you. "oh i know its because you watch the facist news". there is no swastikas on the news I watch.

I think it's cuz your avitar is female. Change your avitar to male and watch how they stop their bashing. Try it. The gals usually get 30-40 answers full of hate. The other way, you may only get a couple.

Totally, everyone is so pro Israel or pro going into Iraq. Whenever you say anything that is contrary, they immediately call you stupid and they can't see the other side's view.
