Some people cook it unpeeled.
I've had grilled corn and I prefer it boiled.

You can remove the husk and cook the corn wrapped in aluminium foil, but for the best flavour, remove only the silk and BBQ the corn right in the husk.
1 Place corn cobs in cold water and soak for 10-20 minutes.
2 Peel back (but don't remove) the husks from an ear of corn.
3 Remove and discard the silk.
4 Bring the husk back over the cob. Tie the ends with string and cover ends with foil to prevent burning.
5 Grill the corn 6" above the heat, on medium, turning frequently, until husks are dry and brown, 15 to 20 minutes.
6 Serve hot off the grill, with butter and salt and pepper to taste.

Let the corn in the leafs sit in water for a couple of hours just so you don't burn the corn. When your ready to cook the corn on the cob keep it in the leaves and put it on the grill turn it about ever 5 to 15 minutes. and then you can check the corn by pulling the leaves down and poking one of the kernels. If it is not ready then just put it back on the grill.

I open the corn husks a third of the way down, remove the fine silk and loose outer leaves. Don't worry about getting every strand of the silk off at this point. Then soak the entire cob in water, making sure to dunk and moisten the entire husk, about ten to fifteen mins worth. fill a large bucket or sink with water and place corn in it then place a couple of stacked plates over the top of the corn to submerge.
Then cook indirectly, not over the burners or coals. On a gas grill you can use the lower rack first 5 mins and then transfer to top rack last 25 mins for total of 30 mins.
It's OK to have browned or even blackened corn husks when done cooking. For added roasted flavor add butter and spice or salt and pepper to shucked corn and cook for a couple of minutes on each side.
This method brings out the sweetness of the corn and steams themselves in their natural moisture.
I prefer white corn to yellow as it is much sweeter and less starchy.

2 ways I've done it...Take off all the out husks of the corn and leaving the inner husks still intact, remove the silk and pull the inner husks back over the corn and tie off the top. Soak in water for 20 min, and then place on a med. heat grill, cook for 20 min Turing every 5min...
The way I like it best...is to shuck the whole corn, and put on the BBQ on low heat..keep an eye on it so it won't burn, and turn every so often. If it is done right,, the outside will be a bit brown, with juicy nibbllets of corn...enjoy

Cooking corn on the grill is good, but have you ever tried it in the microwave? Sprinkle each cob with sugar and dab a pad of butter on it. Wrap it up in Saran wrap and microwave it for about 10-14 minutes. It's the best sweet corn I've ever had.

You will get the best results if you soak it in water over night. My dad made the best corn in the world. He soaked it and then you turn back the husks just a little and put them on the grill. He always said the steam from soaking was his secret.
Take a container (he always used an empty coffee can) melt butter and dip the corn in the melted butter. No mess, No spreading butter.

What you do is soak the corn (with the husks still on) in water for about 20 minutes. Then you put them on the grill on low to medium heat and turn them occasionally, making sure that they are heated evenly. It will probably take at least 15-20 minutes for the corn to cook. Take them off with tongs and let them cool a bit, but one you've done that, they can be shucked and eaten. You can cook them without the husks on, but it's easier to do it with.

use heavy duty aluminum foil. butter corn on one side with squeeze butter. roll the corn around so to get lightly coated. then sprinkle with cavendar's greek seasoning. roll thighly and place on the opposite end from the fire on the grill. close the grill! about 15 minutes later turn the corn close the grill then 15 minutes later do it again. continue the process until the corn feels tender. about 60 to 120 minutes depending on the grill and how hot the fire is! always keep your grill closed after turning!

If it hasn't been shucked yet, soak the entire ear in water for an hour. Then pull the shuck back carefully and remove the silk. Rub with butter and herbs if you want. Pull the shuck back over the ear and tie with string (just to hold together) then put on the grill. When the shuck has dried out and turned brown it is done.

the best way is to soak your corn in the husk for at least 30 minutes in water and put on grill and turn quarterly every 5 minutes, you will thank me later
