My question is, does anyone know how to get a copy of it ? Or do I have to go thru a CNA recertification class all over again?

Check with your State. They keep lists of all licensed health personnel. Just do a search online for your State (then CNA certification). Look for a .gov addy If you have been employed as a CNA it should still be "valid." If you have not been working as a CNA, no doubt you've lapsed and will need to re-take a course and make sure you are also current on your CPR.

No, you are already on the registry. If you do want a copy get in contact with the school and they can probably get you some kind of verification. The registry might even be able to help too.

Also if you havent been employed as a cna for the last 2 years then you will have to get re-certified. If that is the case you should contact a college near you and talk to the nursing dept. You will have to do the manual skills test and the written all over again but you dont have to take the class over again just the test, unless of course you need to get a refresher course.

If you did not renew it in the 80s when the first Iraq war was going on -You have to do it all over again. If you did renew it then there should be a copy of it in the state you live.I forget what year it was but the President made it mandory that all health care workers were on file in each state just in case there was a big war.You would of filled out papers and sent them to the state. If you remember doing it ,there should be a record some where.Good Luck!

I believe there should be some record of it at the school you attended. If not perhaps a quick call to the AMA local office will help you.
