Now he is still crazy and I thought he would have gotten calmer. He purrs and bites @ the same time. And when I get home from work everyday (9-5) He greets me at the door but now doesnt like when I pick him up. I want something to hold and baby. Should I get a dog?? My cat just wants to run around all day but when I am in the bathroom doing my hair the cat will sleep in there and basically follow me everywhere like a dog. And as soon as I go into my bed, I wake up in the morning and he is right next to me curled up. I just cant take the biting nor do I understand it!!!!!!????

He is either playing or telling you to back off.
If he bites while you are petting him, he is telling you he has had enough.
Two things you might try. Yell 'Ouch" or "No" loud enough to scare him.

Get a spray bottle and spray him in the face with water when he bites.

there are several sites you can go to for advice.
Just type in 'biting cat' in your search engine
One such site is www.PerfectPaws.com
Then click on "Cat and Kitten Training".

They are love bites!! my cat does the same thing to me!! She will lick me clean and then bite me for no reason!! Cats are wild, no matter if you have them in a house or not, they will do what they want! if you wanted a baby you should have gotten an ugly little dog, not an independent creature as the cat.
They cat loves you or he wouldn't be curled up with you in the morning! The reason he doesn't like to be picked up is cuz he is bored all day and he wants you to play with him!! Try loving him for who he is and not by the fact that you can't carry him everywhere or baby him like you would with a dog.

Take note: If you don't like biting, definitely do not get a puppy. That's what they do when they are babies. They lose baby teeth just like human babies do. When they are teething, they bite and chew. They also do this as a way of "playing". They don't know that it hurts you, they just think they are having fun. You have to teach them that is not acceptable, just like any other baby. If your cat is showing a behavior that you want him to stop, correct it. I have found with my cats that if you blow in their face, they don't like it at all and it will generally stop any unwanted behavior happening at that time. After doing this a few times, they will understand that when they do that particular action what the consequences are and will generally stop.
Plus, he is young. Is is unrealistic to expect a kitten to be docile and calm. If that is what you are wanting, you should get a cat that is a few years old. He will calm down with age. And, he just had surgery! Give him a break!

It'll take a little more time for your feline to mellow. Don't forget he is a baby still and you'll have to be a little more patient. When I had a male kitten neuterd (17 years ago) he became quite agressive and nasty. He would climb up and sit on the shower (sliding) door ledge, wait til I got out of the shower and as I would dry off, he would then pounce on me, with full claws. I had his claws removed, he became more agressive. I bought him a playmate, an older more mature cat, and what a difference that made.

I'm a dog expert, but I know a few things about cats. And when ur kitten bites u just grab him by the scruff it releases enzymes that will relax him. And he will eventually learn the rules of the house!!

HE IS A BOY. MALE CATS ARE MORE INDEPENDENT THAN FEMALES. GIRLS WANT TO BE HELD AND LOVED. GIVE HIM TIME TO CALM, I HAVE A BOY CAT AND HE IS ALMOST 5 YRS OLD AND HE IS CALM NOW BUT NOT WHEN HE WAS LITTLE HE WOULD BITE SCRATCH ATTACK. IT DOES TAKE A WHILE FOR THEIR HORMONES TO ADJUST AFTER THE PROCEDURE. ABOUT THE BITING TEACH HIM THAT IT IS NOT APPRECIATED JUST LIKE U WOULD A CHILD. SPATTING THEIR BUTTS OR THE ONE FINGER TO NOSE THING AND IF IT CONTINUES BITE BACK. THE EAR NOT REAL HARD THOUGH JUST ENOUGH TO HURT. THAT IS HOW I HAD TO TEACH MINE B/C THE SPANKIN JUST MADE HIM BITE HARDER.

Do you bathe your kittens because you're allergic? often, indoor cats do no longer favor to be bathed except they get into something that calls for you to sparkling off their fur. It would not damage them to bathe them....it is purely frequently no longer mandatory. If uncertain, call the vet and ask him even as they're frequently bathed. He ought to assert wait till Thursday (that could be 10 days after surgical treatment).

These are love bites. My cat does the same thing. If you don't want him to do it, tap him on the nose with your finger.

It takes more than a week for the hormones to level out.. plus he is just a kitten.. relax.. he'll calm down when he is older.
