If you don't mind an answer from an American ...
Without a doubt, the best thing about being British is your pluck. The British people saved the world during WWII. Without their incredible sacrifice, stamina, courage, and will, Hitler would have prevailed over all of western Europe and maybe more. You should be eternally proud as I am eternally grateful. My dad was in WWII and my war was Vietnam - so, I know whereof I speak. Thanks!!

National Health Service is one - don't knock it, my mum's GP sent her to a private hospital for a simple cataract op and she came home permanently blinded in one eye.

The close proximity to the rest of Europe - the tunnel is a wonderful way to stock up on good but cheap food/wine etc

We don't have to brag about or exaggerate our history, because we actually have one.

Our police force is staffed by humans, not violent morons with guns who treat you as guilty until proven innocent

Our education system is one of the best in the world, qualifications gained in UK are highly prized by overseas students and employers

I like our climate! Right now my garden is a riot of growth and colour, I can grow almost any plant from anywhere in the world successfully

Brit neighbours have to be the best in the world. I wouldn't swap mine for anything

Shop assistants are really helpful, most will go to any lengths to find you what's not on the shelf. All you have to do is ask!

We're small enough to be able to travel to any of our 4 countries in a day yet come across many regional differences on the way.

that's just for starters...

Well, I'm ENGLISH first then British... Things I like best about it are, we have words like w anker, bollocks, a rse and we can direct these towards other nationalities and no-one understands lol. Seriously though, I like our sence of humour, irony our ability to abuse the English language then accuse the Yanks of doing the same thing lol
I like to think we can take the p*ss out of other countries but do it in a friendly way. We can certainly take the p*ss out of ourselves lol
