I've been in love with this guy for 3 years. I recently found out he had feelings for me as well. The night he told me he liked me, we hooked up and it was great. Two days later, he tells me he wants to be friends...
Not quite what I was looking for that day...
He's going to Iraq, and I know he doesnt want to have a girlfriend when he goes over there. Understandable, I respect that.
Did I do something wrong, or does he just not want to have any worries while he's gone, and will come back to me when he gets back?

You didn't do something wrong, just too fast. You say you've been "in love" for 3 years so your feelings of wanting to be in a relationship with him were already there. So he tells you that he likes you and you hook up with him the same night. Now you could have been some "easy booty" for him because he probably had no idea you were harboring these feelings for him (or even if he did he probably didn't know that its been for 3 yrs.) Just try to be his friend for now and if he wants to take it to the next level he will let you know.

I understand that you like him and he likes you....but he is right for doing what he is doing .....he doesnt want to come home from a long distant relationship knowing that "his girl" could have been cheating on him while he was gone. And he may even cheat while away....so he is saving the anguish for the both of you. Tho, you can ask him before he goes to look you up when he comes back and that way you both can see if the feelings are still there.

sometimes and i hate to say this , but guys are not as emotional as us and dont think of sex like we do. sounds like you had fun and thats it. Stay friends and try not to be to disappointed. tell him you would like to write him while hes gone. Since hes going to iraq there wouldnt be much of a relationship anyway, im sorry.

well sweetie listen, i think he really loves u but u have to think when he is in iraq and something happens to him he dosen't want you to be in love with him so you will be really sad if something does happen. and when he comes back talk to him see if he wants a relationship, well -hope this helps
