According to the The Amazing SPAM Home Page, the ingredients of SPAM are as follows:
* chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added
* salt (for binding, flavor, and firmness)
* water (to help in mixing)
* sugar (for flavor)
* sodium Nitrite (for color and as a preservative)
And here are some other interesting SPAM-related facts to consider:
* In the United States, 3.8 cans of SPAM are consumed every second.
* Hawaiians eat an average of four cans of SPAM per person per year (this is the highest SPAM consumption rate per capita in the world).
* Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia eats a SPAM and mayonnaise sandwich three times a week.
* Nikita Krushchev credited SPAM with the survival of the WWII Russian army. Quothe the Krushchev: "Without SPAM, we wouldn't have been able to feed our army."

No!! Spam is a luncheon meat and is made a a combination of meats--turkey, beef, pork principally. The Virginia Ham and Bacon flavored Spam products taste just that way. Delicious.
There are Spam cooking recipes and annual international cooking contests. My favorite is the Pineapple Spam Roast (really!).
Get into Spam--it is inexpensive meat and very nice.
Heck! I even fry some Spam slices instead of bacon for breakfast just to break the monotony of that usually boring meal.
Bonn appeitite!!!

Spam is actually good. It gets a bad rap because it used to be cheap and its a canned meat. First of all...it is no longer cheap. Have u seen the price of that stuff? lol Second of all "canned meat" does kind of sound...well...funky. Spam is a mixture of many processed meats. I believe it includes ham pork and chicken. Its nice and salty and pretty much the equivalent of lunch meat except for it is canned. I like it browned in a frying pan with baked beans on top. Yeah its supposedly disgusting poor ppl food but it really isn't. Its quite tasty.

SPAM is made from real meat: Shoulder, Picnic and hAM.
The rest is secret spices. No hooves or toenails.
I went to the SPAM Museum in Austin, MN...it was VERY interesting!

Well, the word spam stands for Synthetic Plastic Anal Meat, a biproduct of plastic with the flavor of the anal meat of pigs. It is quite revolting, but can be as expensive as caviare. It goes good with human breastmilk and cow dung.

Spam is really gross...the only way it is edible, is if you fry it , or put it in a casserole ( even then, I still think it is gross)

I've heard that it's spiced ham hence SPAM but I'm not too sure. I don't care for the stuff too much myself.

I'm not sure what it's made of and I don't want to know. But I do know that we eat it with breaskfast. Just fry it up in a pan (no oil) just like you do bacon. Let it get browned and then eat it with syrup. Yummy!!
