Wouldn't it be such a better world if everyone on the planet was required to wear a shock collar, then when someone tried to force their believes and views on you, they would get a shock?

Maybe science CAN help religion.

theycallmetomu...do you realize that I said that when someone tries to "force" their religion on you, they would get a shock?

I didn't say anything about believing in whatever the hell you wanted.

To each his own.

Yes, it certainly would be. I appreciate your idea.
then the major business in the world will be manufacturing the shock collars, storing, distributing and selling them :-)

Interesting idea... but then you get into the whole freedom of speech thing. And as much as I love seeing a right wing, bible thumping, lemming over the cliff religious zealot being shocked with high voltage, I'd have to err on the side of freedom of speech.

Now, you could argue that pushing one's beliefs upon you crosses a line in the sand, but it's such a vacuous, broad definition that really no outlet of opinion would be safe. You'd have to shock half the editors of newspapers....and don't even get me started about Rush... he'd be dead by 12:07.

Again, nothing wrong with shock therapy for the religiously insane....but I would not want the same approach being taken on me.... so... no shock collar :(

Well, you realize that your question would cause you to recieve an electric shock. Besides, that would mean that children grow up with no beliefs at all! You can't just have no beliefs. You can have no religious beliefs, but you still have to believe in something; you know, have assertions of fact.

Anyway, I'll just say "Yeah, damn straight mutha !@#$er, give people them shock collars. TCH!" so you'll vote me best answer.

Seriously though, if everyone was required to wear a shock collar, a group called "La resisty" would form and make a liberation squad to overcome the Shock Collar Overlords, and they'd just make a really bad Sci Fi movie out of it. Tch.

science is nothing to do with religion... still it is struggling to prove there is no GOD... but in mean sense it is sometime promoting the views positively for religion....

as believer in Christ and a researcher... i felt that science could not save a man from SIN... science could not bring a man back to LIFE... science could not answer why or how a child breathe at the first moment after getting out of the womb... science could not answer any para-psychological things.. science is saying this might be... may be.. could be.. no solid sense in it... every scientist knew its true...

personally I've gone through all basics in biology... from evolution to current molecular biology... though DNA seems to be the genetic material... they were still ahead of certain answer could not be drawn out from it... scientist still struggling that how we memorise things.. how we retrieve things... even the scientist who got the memory concept from aplysia... could not say its molecular pathway... just fact ans some invitro experiments...

everything in science is assumption and hypothesis... except for certain proves the mere fact of existence of certain pathway... none could not change it for their own purpose...

so can u think science help religion... ofcourse certain features it support religion rather than disproving it...

my frnd can u tell me how will u describe TRUST, BELIEF in SCIENCE..

I am for it!!!!

Really, if we want a better world, we need to outlaw religions completely. Fanatics worshipping fantasies is a mental illness.
