Yes, I believe they have souls. They have the same needs as us and I don't think they are any less important than people.
*And to the Bible people: She asked for an opinion and not everyone shares yours. Thank you.

All living creatures have souls. The cause of death in the animal world is when the soul leaves the body.

Yes, I believe that they do.
Maybe this has happen to you. Just before you go to sleep, or maybe just before you wake up, didn't you ever feel a presence of a former pet, maybe pushing on you hand to be petted, or a little nose touching your cheek? Maybe you will feel the pressure of a furry body setting on your body.
You wake up, but your pet isn't there. Maybe this is the only time that your pet can tell you that it is patiently waiting for the day that you can join it.

Yes. I strongly belive that every living thing on this earth has a soul and that animals are no different than humans, and that we should treat them just as we would treat other human beings, as well as our self

I do. My dog was 18 when she died last summer, she still comes around me at night. Our other dog we had to put to sleep over 2 weeks ago, I know that he has a soul and that both of them will be waiting for me when I die.

Before I will answer this, I want a really definition of what the soul is, other than 'that which survives death'.

I don't think they are born with one...but when a animal, such as a household pet, is loved...then we give it a soul...and we'll see it on the other side...Love is that powerful.
